China Town London

DaisyBoyd24, 14 January, 2011 at 11:44 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 3

Hi,

We have some friends coming to visit in a couple of weeks from Chicago.

We are going to be in London with them for a few days seeing the sights, going to Museums and galleries etc. Sadly our budget is quite tight so I'm trying to take them to places with free entry

I'd like to take them to China Town for a nice meal.

Can anyone recommend a restaurant that is good but not too expensive?

Many thanks,

Daisy

A lot of the places in China Town can be hit and miss. The one I rate (and regularly frequent) is called HK Diner. Not the most salubrious of places but the food is excellent.

I can't remember any names but there are a few all you can eat buffets, which are quite cheap but the dishes on offer can be quite naff, if going for all you can eat buffet, check the buffet before you order any drinks etc

As a family, we used to go to an amazing dim sum place which I sadly can't remember the name of! Argh! It's the big red and gold one opposite the fire station, a little bit down from the gates (not actually inside the gates)... which doesn't help you really. Sorry! But most of not all the restaurants have the prices in the windows. Look for lots of Chinese people eating in there, then you know you are getting something a bit more authentic LOL!

edit: I think it is called New World!
