They seem to have died down this year I have noticed, from all the weddings I have attended. There are some venues, however, who will not allow them I understand, so do check with them.

Eh, no - I think they are messy too. I wouldn't want covered in chocolate - my dress that is.

Anyways, I've tried them at the wedding fairs and they are ok but I would imagine v sickly after a while and the novelty wears off quickly. Just my opinioin though.

Nay. I think they're a bit tacky (sorry to anyone that's having one). My best friend had one and didn't get near it all night as she was so busy seeing guests! H2B wants one but it's alot to pay out for if you don't really get to see to much of the benefit. We're already paying a fortune for our guests to feed their faces in the day and get drunk!

Well that saves me a few hundred quid then. i suppose it is a waste of money when I'm paying so much for food already. I am going to have a pick and mix though, whether this is cheesey or not ?

We won't be having one either, I just don't see the point if I'm not going to be able to experience it myself, as I won't want to chance it as it's inevitable I'd get some down my dress! ?

Plus I do sort of agree with Gillsy's point about the novelty wearing off quite quickly - at the weddings I've been to that had one, it seemed to be just the kids there that were interested in it after an hour or two.

But obviously it is ultimately up to you and your OH!

Its a nay for me too, for the same reasons others have said.

Pick in mix is cool though, thats 'retro' now dont you know! lol! ?

I dont' like them but that's becuase I don't like the way you have to add olive oil to the chocolate first - yuk!

You can get chocolate fountain chocolate which you don't add olice oil too - but probably cos it's already added.

I know chocolate probably has stuff in it anyway that's random - it's just the idea of adding "cooking oil" makes me think yuk! ?

I'm not a big fan tbh, but only because the chocolate always smells so sickly ... too many wedding fairs spent on the stand next to the chocolate fountain me thinks!!!

I was going to post the same question myself the other day and forgot!! I am in a quandry wheter to get one or not. For people who followed the 'Bacon Butty Debarkle', its got me wondering if we should have a chocolate fountain if for nothing else then it's more stuff for people to eat in the evening. I'm not a great chocolate fan myself but I did try one at my cousens wedding and it was lovely!! Having said that, I am not sure about having one as I think they are a bit tacky. ?

Well I'm going to disagree with everyone. We had one at our wedding and everyone loved it! It was busy for the whole night with adults and children and I didn't get any on my dress! Ours was our dessert along with our wedding cake as we had a hog roast and veggie paella for our main meal.

If you want one, have it - don't worry what everyone else thinks! Only you know your guests and what they will like!

We had one at our wedding and it wasnt messy at all. There were 2 attendants who made sure everyone had plates and napkins etc and not even any of the children had chocolate on them. We had a huge amount of positive responses from guests... i was however too drunk to notice the fountains had arrived

I wouldn't have one myself, especially as I just don't like them (not the type of chocolate they use and not fruit covered in choc - so that does it really),

but I say if you want it - go for it.

I was at a wedding fair last week where one got knocked over & it went EVERYWHERE. Looking at that I don't think I'm having one just in case

I'm not really a chocolate person, so it was never something that we considered, but I did see, and try a fruit fountain at a wedding fair and that was lovely...

We did think about that for a while, then decided against it becaus of the cost..
