Choosing THE dress

MrsGtobe2017, 31 January, 2016 at 18:34 Posted on Planning 0 3

So, I've spent the weekend wedding dress shopping, I limited myself to 3 shops so I wouldn't get overwhelmed, but I am now overwhelmed! I fell in love with a dress in each shop! Today I went to the last shop and narrowed it down to 2 of them, but they are 2 completely different dresses! I wish they had the same dresses in 1 shop so I could just try them on one after the other. They are also way over my budget which makes me feel a bit sick to say that's the price of the dress without accessories or alterations!

I've booked to see the dress from today again so I will do that with the other, but how on earth do you decide?

If you love 2 then decide by how they make you feel? Budget could come into it. As could your vision regarding your day, hair or jewellery choice? Ask yourself if I buy this and not the other how will I feel. If need be and you have the time maybe wait awhile and then try them again in a little while. I loved 2. One was 400 in a sample sale. The other was a similar style but 1400.00. I bought the one reduced to 400 and didn't regret it but they were similar.

Have a look on the designers' websites and see if there are other stores which you can get to which stock those designers. Then, email or telephone them, explain that you have decided on [x]dress but are looking to find the best price. It doesn't matter if you haven't completely decided - if budget is a factor then their responses may help you to decide. I managed to save £300 on my dress by just asking around all of the local stockists for the best price.

If your torn between 2 dresses then in my experience you still haven't found "the one". I have successfully dressed over 400 brides, and your problem is more common than you think. However, take your time, stick to one shop per weekend and look with fresh eyes. As soon as you put the right dress on every other will be forgotten! :-)

    Good luck!

I felt my dress kind of decided me lol. I tried a few on, knew they weren't right, then narrowed down to 2. One I didn't want to take off, though wouldn't say I fell in love with it. I just felt 'swishy' in it, if you get me.

As I had no intention of actually buying one, just wanted to see what a 'proper' dress would look like, they were both way over my budget, but I got mine for half price as I asked if I could buy the shop sample ?
