Christmas Engagements - newbies reveal yourself!

Proposed to Christmas Day 2012 and here within 2 days... Can you sense my excitement??

Im another newbie, proposal was christmas morning, he got me to pull a lovely cracker that had the ring in it!

My OH had bought me a Christmas card that said 'to my wonderful fiancé' on it. Initially I thought he had just picked up a pretty card the day before and not bothered to read it, it didn't click until he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him!!! It was lovely

Hello all,

I got engaged on Christmas Day too - I was VERY surprised, I didn't know anything about it at all.

We woke up around 8.30am (I did wonder why my partner was up early, cause we usually wake up around 10am as we tend to have a late night Christmas Eve & not having any children means we're not woken up at silly o clock in the morning . He couldn't sleep because of nerves!). We had champagne breakfast in bed (dippy eggs & toast - can't beat it!).

We then ventured downstairs to open our presents, once this was finished I then started to get ready (he'd asked for us both to make an effort to wear a dress/shirt for the meal) so I glammed myself up.

We then sat down & had dinner around 1pm, Chris was saying how hot he felt (it was freezing!) & he couldn't really stomach his dinner so we ate a bit & then he asked for me to sit on the sofa as he wanted to show me something. I had no idea what he was up to at this point. He then played a video that he had put together on our TV of pictures & memories of the time we've been together that fitted into a story. It was amazing, if I could show you all I will.

At the end it said he is looking forward to creating a lot more memories with me & then he dropped down on 1 knee with the most beautiful ring ever .... VERY excited lady!!!

We're planning to get married ont he 31st May 2014 - 517 days to go!!!!!!!!

I loved getting engaged on Christmas day last year and just found out that my bridesmaids friend got engaged this Christmas day too...I keep wondering if she will join hitched!

I'm a newbie!

We actually got engaged last Christmas Eve... He did it next to a big christmas tree outside the restaurant we had eaten at. Thanks to an eventful first pregnancy and baby needing an operation (all is fine now!) we are only just starting our planning now.

Getting so excited, wedding is booked for 28 December 2013!

I'm a newbie but it wasnt a Christmas enagement he asked me on the 15th of Dec. We have done no planning yet (apart from lots of internet browsing!) but I can't wait to really start. He propsed at home. He put the ring onto my dogs collar and sent him in to see me then got down on one knee and asked. He said if he planned something too romantic I would have been too suspicious and he wanted to ask me when we were alone not with all our relatives over Christmas.
