Christmas/winter weddings

Just wondering how popular they are and what kind of colour schemes people prefer. I was thinking ivory burgundy and gold and more traditional decs and favours. OH wants lots of icy colours in a sort of winter wonderland theme. What do people think?

A winter/xmas wedding sounds lush ... I'd have to go with the icy/sparkly theme ! Fairy lights, candles, icy table diamonds, sparkly things, and then ivy/mistletoe and maybe just a touch of holly with the bright red berries -ooooh! I want to get wed again and have that!!!

Im thinking the whole Lion/Witch/Wardrobe kinda vibe! Without the lion maybe .... Imagine the icicle inspired tiara and jewellery you could have!!

I am getting married 23rd December. Less than 3 weeks! Been quite hectic planning as we live in Dubai, H2B is English I'm Dutch. Getting married in a 100 year-old Dutch windmill in afternoon. Colours we chose are Champagne, royal Purple for MOH and Snowflake decoration. The room where the diner and reception will be, will be full of snowflakes hanging down, on the tables and a few little white lampoons! Have this vision of quite plain low lighting with glittery snowflakes everywhere. My dress is quite plain and straight and have an ivory cardigan for the ceremony that has beading along the edges that looks like shards of ice. And the for the dinner/ reception I get changed into a 3/4 sleeve purple cardi with satin bows! Am so excited! For flowers we are making my bouquet, MOH wrist cosage and guests corsages ourselve. Any advice on what flowers would go with this theme? Was thinking of babies breath in my hair, and using it and white gerberas in all flowers. Any ideas for purple/lilac flowers?

Have done a couple of table plans for Christmas weddings, one on the gold/burgundy theme and one winter wonderland.

That might give you some ideas of how the different colours might work.
