For all that are having church weddings how many hymns and readings have you chosen

We were looking at 3 hymns and 2 readings one biblical and the other non biblical.

The church of england website stated 3 or 4 but my vicar stated 2-3?!
Also how long roughly is the service with 3 and 2 readings?
Did you organise music for the signing of the register and the prelude to the wedding? was this played on an organ or a cd?
sorry for all the questions and thanks for the responses

I would really recommend having a look on here and doing the ceremony planner, its pretty cool, albeit a little scary when you get the final plan but it will give you some help!

Over the years, the most typical amount of hymns I have come across at the wedding is 3, followed by 2 and then 4 as the least common.

Naturally 4 hymns tend to get chosen for Catholic services with mass or the "higher" C of E services as these are both around an hour long.

    HIya

We are having two readings, both from the old testament, and three hymns - after my entrance, the communion hymn & one after the signing if the register. (Catholica BTW, not sure if things differ for CoE) x

Catholic services generally tend to include a mass almost as standard, whereas Cof E tend to omit the mass element unless it is one of the "higher" ceremonies.....in which case the ceremonies are quite similar in many aspects.

Im stuck over which ones to choose!
I like 4 although one of them is sung to the tune I vow to thee my country so was thinking of changing it to a reading however I already have 2 readings!
So it seems I can have 4 hymns +2 readings or 3 hymns +3 readings!
I guess I'll speak to the vicar and see what he thinks...
