Clay cake toppers still haven't arrived...

So I'm starting to panic a little,

i ordered bride groom and my dog clay cake toppers back in feb. I was told they would be with me at least 4weeks before, so 4weeks ago I asked when they'd be sent, I was told a few days later,

that came and went and I tried messaging no reply so thought I'd make an indirect comment on Facebook knowing I am friends with the company on there, half an hour later I get an apologetic message saying they would be sent the next day. They still haven't arrived, I messaged twice with no reply.

i have now written on their wall which I didn't want to do hoping I was a one off but am still no closer to find out what is happening, I've paid in full via PayPal back in feb, I think this is the biggest kick in the teeth the worst part?

this was a surprise for my h2b and we get married next sat!

This was on offer through wedding find it buy it on Facebook

what should I do? I've paid £65 and didn't want to spend out any more but really wanted lifelike toppers including our dog as everyone knows he is like our child.

    You should be able to get you money back through paypal if you raise a dispute... that's why we encourage our customers to use paypal. It means you are covered I think upto £500.

    Have you spoken to Kharv on here? She does personalised wooden cake toppers, might be worth a try?

    I'd also let wedding find it buy it know. They do occasionally warn brides about rogue traders if they get a couple of complaints about them xx

    I love what kharv does but I wanted a specific style to surprise the h2b,

    just had a reply on Facebook from the person

    Hi Just seen your post, they are on their way first class so was hoping they would have got there by now really. Leave it with me and I will give royal mail a ring in the morning and check there aren't any hold ups.

    i replied right away asking when they were sent but nothing back yet...

    There seems to have been a spate of complaints about suppliers on here recently.

    Paypal's default position is to side with the buyers in most cases. They will almost certainly refund you, so you won't lose your money.

    I'd send them a message today (or phone them if you can) saying that if they haven't arrived tomorrow or at least been sent by a tracked service and given you proof of that tommorrow, you will raise a paypal dispute. You can then try to get replacements from a supplier that does care about your business.

    absolutely insist on Proof of postage. Even if they have sent them standard royal mail they would still get a receipt with a parcel number on.

    I would still raise the dispute in paypal immediately.

    People like this give us good suppliers a bad name!

    I really hope you get them in time, Lauko.

    If they have sent via normal first class, they won't really have proof of postage (as in a tracking no or anything) but I would hope they have sent them at least recorded delivery if not special delivery.

    Did they send you photos of them before they posted them?

    Me too kharv, no to photos although initially she did say she would send, so have re asked for a photo

    I've received this now...

    I took them into the post office on Friday afternoon but had just missed the collection so they would have left on Saturday - usually they would take 3 days at most but I know that it did happen once that one took a few days longer because of a hold up at the sorting office with the vans or something. If they turn up in the morning, can you just let me know please?

    I have asked for a parcel number, so just hope they arrive tomorrow,

    for once I won't mind being woken up for a parcel when on nights!

    it just makes me sad as I was really excited for these and I was looking forward to them arriving and surprising the oh. My cake supplier has even added a separate cake as the one I'm having wont have room on top for a topper...

    Now to sort the post box issue of her getting back with a collection date next week, what is with me and booking things in advance and not hearing things?!

    Have you put the tracking number into Royal Mail? It should tell you where your parcel is and when it was posted.

    I would definitely ask for the photos again - she will still have those.

    ETA: Sorry! - thought you said you had a tracking no already.

    That suggests they were not sent special delivery? Also, even if you ordered them a the end of Feb and they said 4 weeks delivery time that still makes them around 5 weeks late? So why would they only be posting Friday?

    Sounds a bit odd to me, don't know what others think? Fingers crossed they arrive tomorrow

    She's yet to reply to either of my last questions, I don't think it's right to slate companies and she looks as though she's had a few clients recently on her Facebook page but I'm getting to the point where I want to warn everyone else about the company, but breathe keep calm and wait until after the weekend....

    If she said she was going to check with the post office then that suggests at least recorded delivery as you can't check on untracked mail. However recorded or next day can be checked online so why did she not do that? I have had several instances where the tracking has said that a card has been left when it hasn't so I would also try your local sorting office, but she should be able to tell you that from the tracking number. Sounds a bit suspect. I'm not sure about paypal either as I think you only have 60 days to dispute a payment. Maybe do it now you can always cancel the dispute if they arrive

    I really hope they arrive....but just in case...

    My friend Marina has started making cake toppers just a few weeks ago after the one she made for her own wedding got so much attention! They are really brilliant, and so if you get stuck you could ask her and I bet she would do you a rush order as she has just started. Take a look at her facebook page - I know her and her Scottish hubby and I can tell you, the models are just like her and her OH!

    Do tell her your date though just in case they don;t have time to set or something as I know she did tell me they have to dry.

    Update...

    so the company has made them again....

    i now have a tracking number and have checked which says that it is at the mail centre, she also sent me a picture which Is a little too big, oops..

    Nope, they are saying that this is the second one they've made and it must have got lost in the post,

    as long as it arrives right now I don't care if its true or not

    At least they are on their way thank goodness. I know how you feel, I ordered personalised cake toppers from someone and paid several months before the wedding. I got married in July LAST YEAR and they still haven't turned up, still had no communication from the person who was paid to make them, and so ended up without them and my money. It does make you cross when you pay for something and then don't get it. Is there any way you could pm me in case it is the same company? If it is there is hope I can contact them and find out what happened to my order and maybe get a refund.

    Lynd, they arrived although I'm not sure if there was another set made like they said but this is good quality.

    ask for special/recorded delivery.

    4days to go!
