Clinton Cards Payment

MarieMarie1980, 7 January, 2011 at 13:47 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 4

Hiya

Has this happened to anyone else?

I purchased some cards at Clinton Cards on Saturday 4 December with my bank card - the payment came out of my bank a few days later. Roll forward to 24 Decmeber (Xmas EVe) and the buggers took the money again!! So I phoned my bank to advise a duplicate payment and they said that a whole payment file for transactions dated 4 /5 Dec had been duplicated by Clinton Cards. The bank said they were aware of the error and were waiting for Clintons to reverse the transaction. This was supposed to happen in the days following Christmas.

So I still have not had the money returned to me 2 weeks later. I phoned my bank earleir this week and they said they are still waititng for clintons to refund the payments. I have emailed clintons twice but not had any replies. I know it was only £10 but I think it is highly unprofessional and could be classed as theft.

ANy thoughts?

TIA
Mx

Thanks ladies. Thats an interesting article Josie... I think it is a different incident to mine but seems its happening a lot. I think I will wait until Monday and see if the money gets refunded and take it from there. I can see a strongly worded letter getting sent to the head office... useless eejits!!

    Thanks

    Mx

My OH mentioned he'd got refunded £10 from Clinton Cards randomly the other day - that might explain why if they charged him twice. I'll tell him to check! x
