Colour & ideas advice...

*PrincessMeMa*, 1 January, 2013 at 16:43 Posted on Planning 0 1

Our main colour for the day is Turquoise, with a hint of red (sounds awful, but looks great on google!)

The theme is very country fete style

We have white chair covers with turquoise bows. White table cloths with turquoise table runners...

heres the dilemmas...

caterers said to supply ribbon to tie round white cloth napkins... Would you choose turquoise or red gingham?

I'm filling little jam jars with sweets, and topping with material tide with string, finished with tag for name place... Would you use turquoise or red gingham?

Lastly... I have no idea what to have as centrepieces!!! Was thinking of using those steel gavinised buckets with something in them???!! And then use wooden hearts on sticks with blavkboard paint, and chalk on table numbers. I have tea lighters for dotting around the table

any suggestions and pictures would be great! x

    I think it's a lovely colour theme- very 1950s which I love.

Are you thinking floral or something else for centrepieces? What about hydrangeas in turquoise in the centre wapped by red ribbon. Or the opposite- red flowers in a blue vase- see image below:

Seeing as your table runners and chair covers are turquoise, I'd go with red gingham for both the jam jar covers (that's the classic colour for jam jars anyway isn't it?) and napkin ties. That way there's larger blocks of turquoise at the table, with the smaller details in red gingham, which is what you wanted (i.e. majority turq, less red)
