Hi ladies

I've gone and chose my dress and having a diamond white colour, I was going to have ivory/silver theme for the evening reception, do you think this would still work? We are getting married in mauritius and having evening reception when we get back so was going to have ivory cake, and ivory petals and crystals on tables, the beading on my dress is pearls and crystals...

Help me ladies Smiley winking

Assuming you don't mean it looks like cheap cider when you said "Diamond White" Smiley smile

Is it a pale, subtle silver, or a bright metallic (not quite tin foil but you know what I mean) silver?

If it's the former, it might look a bit sterile and particularly not show up that well, if you have white or cream walls in your reception venue, or against the sand if you're getting married on the beach.

How about an accent colour used very sparingly just to give a bit of 'lift'? There are some beautiful tropical flowers native to Mauritius which you could incorporate sparingly to great effect.

I too have a dimaond white dress and colour theme of silver. Stationary is an ivory & silver colour and looked rather bland. My bridesmaid is a silver colour, but its being made, so hope its not a grey colour! I am going to add a jade/emerald green to add some colour. Just a ribbon on the invites, coloured table sprinkles, or a coloured chair sash to add something.

    Hi Teal,

We may have the same dress then!!!

Our stationary is a ivory/silver and I'm adding a bit of bling crystal to it too,

do you mind me asking what colour are you having your cake? I was going to have ivory.

TBH I had assumed I'd just have white icing, but maybe I'll have ivory now thinking about it. Was going to either have a silver ribbon about the cakes or emerald green. Am also having orchids in a spray from the top tier down to the bottom.
