Colour scheme help needed

Julie48, 3 June, 2016 at 09:29 Posted on Planning 0 8

Hi Girls

I'm still struggling to decide on a colour scheme and I'm starting to panic now!!

We're getting married in a timber framed building so I don't think any bright colours would do it justice. Our little girl will be our only flower girl and she loves pink so I'm guessing her dress will have to be pink but apart from that I have no idea!!!

What colour schemes have you gone for?

Jx

I'm getting married in June, so BMs are in pink, lilac & mint, & then I'll probably put some gold somewhere in the colour scheme too - however our reception is in a marquee so it's a pretty blank canvas!

What about navy or grey with pink?

You could have blush instead of bright pink and then also cream and mint. That would go nice with a timber framed building if your going for that country style wedding.

What month are you getting married in? We got married in a hay barn in September so we chose autumnal colours, wooden tables and chairs and more lights than colours. We decorated the place in thousands of fairy lights and just chose foliage and candles for the table decorations. It really brought out the wood in the barn. The only real colour we went for was in our bridesmaid dresses which was a dark purple/wine colour which matched the darkest flower in our bouquets

My wedding theme is shabby chic and so my colours are pastel pink, pastel blue and mint green, my flower girls wearing pink and I have one bridesmaid in blue and the other in green, these colours are in so much shabby chic stuff the colour scheme was pretty much picked by the theme for me

Our wedding is at a barn/country garden, so we're going with navy and pink - the crochet bouquets are pink, the BM dresses are navy and the table flowers will be in a range of pastel colours (blue, purple, pink, cream - no yellow or orange).

All our stationery is in kraft card and cream paper, and we've got loads of hessian and lace.

Ours is similar in the we're having hessian, lace and pearls for everything! Colours are navy, gold and ivory. Ours is a November wedding in a 200 year old beautiful waterside pub. Lots of bare brick and dark wood so I'm hoping that with lots of candles and gold accents it looks cosy and has that sort of luxury rustic feel! If that makes any sense at all!

We are getting married in a converted barn at the end of April, we dabbled with colour schemes for a long time. Ended up settling with mink for the bridesmaids (simply because we found dresses we love in that colour!), and probably going to go with silver for the complementary colour. Flowers are going to be in pale pinks and white. Also going with hessian, lace and wood for the rustic theme. I really liked the idea of teal, but like you've said, didn't feel bright colours would look right!

I am debating lilac and grey or just grey at the moment, but when I was on Pinterest I saw pink and grey and it looks stunning!
