Colour scheme help please!!!!

cloudnine, 10 February, 2010 at 18:57 Posted on Planning 0 5

Please help me I'm feeling stressed already...

We get married April 2011 and I cannot decide on a colour and or' theme' as yet. I would be grateful to hear all your feedback, cause I'm real stuck at the moment.

Colour ideas so far are; hot pink and orange, cadburys purple with lilac, turquoise, or midnight/royal blue with lime green!

Moving on from this, as we are getting married Easter weekend, I thought we could somehow incorporate mini eggs, lindt bunnies, easter egg hunt, lemon, daffodils etc

My favourite flowers are gerberas so they also have to be included.

My H2B is a Music teacher, so this has got to play a huge part, ideas have been vinyl records as table numbers or tables named after musicals, music note confetti or guitar picks sprinkled on tables etc etc.

Lastly, at the evening reception, I want to have a retro sweet bar, in the colour scheme of our choice if possible.

I think they are all the ideas off the top of my head.

Would it be too messy to incorporate all of my ideas with whatever colour we go for?

Please help!!

Many thanks for reading my ramble
xx

You can certainly use the yellow with the hot pink and orange and also the Cadbury (Kraft!) purple and lilac as these are all complimentary colours with yellow thus allowing you to have the Easter items as well. Daffodils are a bit "iffy" for wedding flowers as they are not particularly long lasting flowers out of water. They also have hollow stems which are prone to weakening which leads to wilting and stem breakage. A lovely alternative to daffodils are "tete a tete" which are dwarf narcissi and smell absolutely gorgeous. They are a little bit hardier than the daffodil and very pretty.

How about cadbury purple with bright pink gerberas? Thats the colour scheme I'm going for as gerberas are my fave flower too but i'm having a darker purple for my bridesmaids rather than cadbury purple.

Found some Gerb Bouqets that might fit the schemes:

Like the pink and orange colour. How about Yellow and Silver or different pastel colours? I like the egg idea, why not a bowl of eggs on each table. You can also get mini versions of the creme eggs and a couple of other cadburys eggs (about the size of mini eggs) but atleast these are wrapped so you wont just have a lot of mucky fingers sticking their hands in bowls of sweets?

Good luck, hope you find your theme soon! xx
