colour scheme inspiration needed!

thefuturemrsclarke, 18 April, 2009 at 19:05 Posted on Planning 0 15

What are we all having? i originally wanted fuscia pink but couldnt decide what the men would wear cravat and waistcoat wise if we did this as they are not fancying hot pink, so now completely undecided. has anybody had fuscia and if so what did your men wear?

and also can i have some inspiration for other colour schemes, what are you all having? i was also thinking aqua/turqoise/tiffany blue(whatever you want to call it) but didnt know if this was going to be an easy colour to match and find things in. i dont want to do another mission impossible like the teal thing turned out to be( although it did look lovely from what iv seen so far but i know it was alot of hard work).

anybody got any pics or ideas for me please? just so you know i get married july 2010 and although i havnt got my dress yet its going to be ivory/cream ish. im not going for any particular colours on that.

We're having hot pink and baby pink. My OH and his BM will both be wearing light pink cravats and waistcoats

What about maybe using midnight blue/navy and hot pink along with your ivory cream(would look amazing)? Then your men could wear navy with maybe a hot pink buttonhole? Or hot pink , chocolate & ivory cream, aqua pink & ivory cream

Don't forget not everything has to match exactly - it's all about tones and shades and most times looks better with a few differences xx

    Here are some ideas HTH

My OH is wearing his kilt so that determined part of the colour scheme, it's very green, so we've gone for green with fuschia pink being an accent colour with a hint of silver. My CBM is in a sage coloured dress, the FGs are wearing plain white dresses with fuschia sashes, the invites are by prettywild and we're having her arboris design which is fab, ... the OH is probably having a muted down silver/ pearly colour tie with black waistcoat.

Not sure if that helps at all!

    Hiya,

I am having fuscia/hotpink and aqua, not had a problem co-ordinating anything so far.

My bridesmaid dresses are aqua, I couldn't get aqua chair sash's so I am having fuscia and it looks fabulous, I am having tall flute glasses filled with aqua coloured water with bright pink flowers tumbling over the top, on a mirror plate with aqua coloured table diamonds,so it kind of frames the aqua in between the flowers and chair sash's.

Much to OH's relief I have found waistcoats and cravats for hire in aqua in Jeff Banks. He was also dreading wearing bright pink !!!

So rather than everything being aqua I have used the pink almost as much.

I haven't got any photo's (wouldn't have a clue how to post them anyway !) to show, but my florist is raving about it as a colour scheme and it really does look amazing together.

I'm not really having much of a colour scheme, BMs are in claret dresses with ivory sashes, to be honest I've gone off the colour a bit but their (BMs) minds couldn't be changed. I'm having a lot of things in silver, and silver is the colour of the detail on my dress. So I guess you'd say claret, ivory and silver!

However, my favourite 'scheme' at the moment is aqua and pink - lovely and fresh.

    HI ya

First thing's first! What colour will your reception room be? For example a wedding I did today had an orangey colour carpet (sounds gross but was ok as the venue was stunning - Margam Park Orangery) however, fusia pink would look awful in there. The first thing I do as a planner is look at the colours of the reception room and co-ordinate the colours to match and not clash. So, what are the colours of your reception venue?

I was going to have my reception at the Orangery!!

I'm having a fucshia pink colour scheme and the men are having silver grey suits with silver waistcoats. My h2b and possibly the best man is having a pink tie made from the material from the bridesmaids dresses and the rest of the men are having silver ties.

You could have another colour e.g. blue, green and add touches of pink to your day still.

We are having an emerald green for the BM so the men will have probably green waistcoats/cravats. This will be our main colour with touches of pink (probably hot pink) and silver too.
