Colour scheme issue...

Lusciouslittlebluebellx, 6 August, 2017 at 17:08 Posted on Planning 0

Ok so, for our wedding, we originally said that our colour scheme will be navy blue and baby pink, however, as time has gone on and with buying decorations and sorting flowers etc., nothing is going to be navy blue other than the bridesmaid dresses.

We're having a summer wedding so no dark flowers, they're all pinks and ivories. Groomsmen will be having dark grey suits with baby pink ties too. All decorations are light colours as we are going for a shabby chic theme.

So I guess my question is, do I need to change my bridesmaid dresses to pink to match the rest of the wedding colours, or will it look ok to keep them navy? I'm worried they might not go with everything else if they're in navy...

Any opinions are appreciated!

    Hi,

That sounds like a lovely theme for a wedding. I had navy blue and dusky pink as colour scheme. Bridesmaids wore navy blue as I knew some of them were not keen on wearing pink and grooms tie etc was navy blue with grey suits as he also didn't want to wear pink. Flowers were pink and table decorations were mainly pink. There were a few hints of navy blue in decorations such as the name cards and table plan but other than that mainly pink. I personally liked the idea of having a slightly darker colour to stand out amongst the pink and ivory so you certainly don't have to change the colour of the bridesmaid dresses. I don't think the bridesmaids have to match the venue decoration as long as the dress colour works with the groomsmen outfits for the photos but navy blue and pink does go together so don't have to match.
