Colour scheme issue!!

Lusciouslittlebluebellx, 6 August, 2017 at 21:42 Posted on Planning 0 6

I'm pulling my hair out right now... we originally said we would have a baby pink and navy blue colour scheme, however as the months have gone on, and we've bought decorations etc, I realised we don't actually have anything navy.

I told my bridesmaids their dresses would be navy, however the entire wedding will now be filled with pinks, ivories and whites. It's a summer shabby chic style wedding, so everything is quite light. The groomsmen will be wearing mid-dark grey suits with baby pink colour ties, meaning the only navy will be the bridesmaids, and I'm starting to think it won't look right and they'll stand out.

The other issue I have is one of my bridesmaids has bright red hair, and there is no chance of her dying her hair any other colour as she has always had red hair, meaning I don't like the idea of changing the dresses to baby pink, as that will seriously clash with the red hair!

Help!! Opinions needed please!

I think it'll be okay! Are they having any pink flowers or hit accessories?

You could add a baby pink sash to the dresses or tone them down with accessories?

I think what you have will look fine, the bridesmaids standing out a little isn't a massive problem in my opinion.

Or you get some navy accents for your decor / flowers?

Nothing big, just throw in a few sprigs of navy in your flowers, add a few navy ribbons or bows go things?

Just a few small touches to help it tie together should be fine x

Navy is a strong colour... you only need the odd slash of it to stand out so it shouldnt be hard to add into what you have

I don't see what the issue is? The Bridesmaids, Groomsmen and Groom will be in Navy, what are you worried about?

Navy + blush pink is our colour scheme too, the bridesmaids are in navy dresses with pale pink fluffy stoles (October wedding) and the Groom + groomsmen in Navy. I think that's all you need really!! Flowers and decorations are more likely to be pinks, blushes and pale colours, which will go beautifully with the darker outfits.

As the posted above said, I think they'll look lovely together and you only need a bit of navy for it to make an impact. You'd much rather have more pinks than navy - especially for a summer wedding.

Don't stress Smiley smile You don't need to.

No the groomsmen and groom are in grey and baby pink, no navy. But yeah I think you're right, the darks will look nice against the pinks and ivories Smiley smile i will just accesorise!

    Thanks

Thanks for the ideas! Unfortunately there are no dark colours in the flowers and the decorations we have we can't really alter and add navy to but I will just accessorise the bridesmaids! I think the darks will look nice against the lights anyway...

Thanks for your help! Smiley smile
