Colour scheme problems

Dizzybelle, 3 August, 2012 at 16:44 Posted on Planning 0 5

How does this sound???

I'm not having bridesmaids, just two flowergirls (daughter and niece) who are wearing the green flower girl dresses from BHS. They are an ivory bodice with a sage green sash. Anyway, now other half as decided he doesn't like green although dresses bought invitations ordered etc. etc. ggrrr. We're only having a small informal wedding so he and our sons were just going to be in grey suits, white shirts and sage green ties. I was thinking of now having him (and perhaps my son who is giving me away) in another colour tie just to keep the peace. So it would be him and one of the sons in one colour and two of our sons in green along with the flowergirls.

Any ideas of colours which would work well?

P.S. I would just like to add that H2B is actually colour blind which is why I think he has got such a problem with green as I think he sees it as more of a yellow shade lol

I'd either just have your OH in a different colour or have them all in a different colour. Not two and two I don't think.

Why not just give them all ivory cravats?

How about a creamy ivory colour tie for your son and H2B? That way it ties in your with your flowergirl dress bodice? x

I would agree with Kharv - go for ivory instead, although my bm's are pink and the mens ties are blue! but everything else is cream so i'm hopefully it will work!

We're having the girls in dark pink, and the boys in dark silver (as h2b wasn't keen on wearing pink). Will tie them in as the girls are wearing silver pashminas, shoes and accessories and the boys will have a dark pink buttonhole. My mum is wearing silver and grey with dark pink corsage too.

Thanks everyone. Had another chat with hubby last night and I think we've now decided that all three boys will be in green and he'll be in an ivory tie. I asked him what colour he wanted to wear and he said "whatever colour I'm told to wear" so at least he's got the right idea lol
