Colour Scheme...driving me mad!

donna1988x, 4 September, 2011 at 10:52 Posted on Planning 0 12

I'm finding it impossible to make my mind up on a colour scheme.

I'm not really a fan of bold colours, I want something either pastle like or natural...considering just an ivory wedding.

Really need to start making some decisions on bridesmaid dresses...I think I want chiffon bridesmaid dresses, anyone got any suggestions?

What colour scheme have you gone for? What do you think of ivory bridesmaid dresses? Anyone got any photos?

Thanks in advance!

Hi. I have opted for a more neutral colour scheme, with my dress being ivory and the BM dresses in a cappuccino /fawn colour with simple dusky pink flowers and the FG in ivory. The men will have the same colour cravat as the BM. I'm on my phone so can't post my mood board but will add it later for you to see. I have been a BM in the past for a friend and wore ivory. Not my taste for a BM but if you love it, go for it! :-)

My colour scheme isn't much help, I know I want black and orange haha Smiley smile

Have you tried using pinterest? I started using it a couple of weeks ago and it's amazing, great for collecting ideas of what you like. You could make easy mood boards for the colours you like and see them all together, and that might give you a better idea of what you want.

If you like pastels but can't settle on one... why not do all of them? Have an ivory wedding with pastel colours for flowers mixed together - blue pink and yellow would look amazing, but still light.

I am a big fan of the very pale, muted natural/nude tones too. I also think ivory is fine for bridesmaids, if it's good enough for Kate Middleton LOL ?

Dessy have a big range of dresses in different styles and loads of colours so you can have a look to see how they could look ?

Im doing black white and purple no good to you! If you look at the top of the page their is an inspiration button, if you click on that it gives you the option to look at picture by colour scheme, I found it usefull and have pinched a few ideas for my wedding Smiley smile

Thats what im thinkin...a lovely natural pale green for bridesmaid dresses!

Lots of natural green and ivory in the flowers with a slight dusty peach to add a touch of colour...

Here is an older moodboard of mine to illustrate our chosen colours.

I think a lovely sage green would look lovely though!

My colours are pretty pastel... I'm wearing ivory with greeny/ blue bridesmaids and picking up pink in the flowers. We are taking the colours from the vintage crockery and bunting we are using so hopefully it will go together better than it sounds.

Mood-board if it helps Smiley smile (hope it's not to big!)

That sounds nice. The only place we're planning on using the pink lavender will be in the flowers, just to lift them a little and so that I'm not having ivory or white flowers as i think they might look a little lost against my dress.
