Colour schemes.

LoveBug1950, 27 June, 2013 at 22:45 Posted on Planning 0 13

I am the most indecisive person ever.

I know I have 22 months but I want to start buying little bits and bobs now. I'm really struggling to decide on my colours. I started off wanting coral and teal, then blue, now I want lemon and mint green. Pinterest isn't helping, just introducing me to all sorts of possibilities!

I'm driving myself bonkers, I'm dreading choosing a dress.

I always thought it was just a case of picking your favourite colour and running with it....until I started buying bits for my daughter. I suddenly realised that some colours are difficult to match up. My daughter originally wanted teal.... but there are so many interpretations! We ended up changing it to forest green which was much easier to match up.

I think you can choose the combination like Black+Brunt orange or Yellow+Magenta or Brown+Khakhi.

These colors will suit any kind of wedding events.

OMG colours are a nightmare arent they! I keep changing my mind every other day. I wanted pink, then purple, then lemon, then all different pastel colours, now im thinking champagne!!!

I wish it was like a menu and you could only pick what was on the menu, fewer choices would be great! lol

We are renting a big manor house and i carnt decide if i want it to be really formal and swanky ? or fun and colourful.

I think im gunna take my bridesmaids shopping and let them pick the colour of the dress and then thats it......sorted!

    xxx

It's easy to get carried away at first when you get excited about things. Restrict yourself to online shopping and making boards on pinterest and getting ideas until you have your dress and your bridesmaids dresses ordered. Matching to the dresses makes much more sense. You may buy bits and bobs and then find they just don't go with the important things and then you have wasted money. I am having blue. It doesn't need matching up at all. Some stuff is navy and some stuff is light sky blue and the two shades both go nicely with white and ivory. Unless your bridesmaids are very fair, lemon and mint green are harder colours to carry off, but they are nice and summery.

Have you booked your venue yet? My venue had regular wedding fairs and showcase evenings there so going to those and seeing what the rooms looked like when set up for a wedding really helped with choosing colours - I changed my mind on my original colour because I could see that it didn't quite suit the room in real life.

the most important things are your dress and your venue - the little bits and bobs need to come last!

We changed our colors 4 times and in the end we had a color that looking back now neither of us even really liked just because we couldn't choose. I do love lemon and silver/grey and the same with mint green. What season are you getting married in? x

I think all those colours are lovely.

Weve gone for royal/cobalt blue as it's my OH's favourite colour and I already had some fab irregular choice blue shoes I wanted to wear. Proving a bit of a nightmare.

In the past I've been a BM for girls who have a colour choice (nightmare, we had to get them made from scratch as nothing in the shops suitable) and also for a girl who didn't have a colour scheme. The second was much easier as we could just find dresses we really liked rather than worry whether it was the 'right' colour or not. I've found so many lovely dresses but had to discount as the colour wasn't right!

When choosing a colour scheme before you settle check that all the items you are thinking of are available in the colours you want as there is nothing worse than not being able to match something and getting frustrated trying to track it down Smiley smile

There was never a question that light blue was going to be our colour, as it's both of our favourite. As we started planning and a beach theme became apparent, we added sandy/gold colours (the sea and the sand!). With light blue, I knew there'd never be a problem getting things.

My sister had no idea what colour she wanted, although she knew she wanted something just that little bit more unusual. She ended up choosing it based on the bridesmaid dresses she preferred!

That's what I'm worrying about, buying stuff and then not being able to find anything to match my colours. I'm not having any bridesmaids but my three daughters are flower girls, so ideally I'd like them to have white or ivory dresses (depending on what colour I have) with a coloured sash or shoes. Or both!

My venue is having a wedding fair next month, so I might wait until then. I'm so desperate to start buying.
