Colour Schemes? What are you going for?

leanneboo87, 17 February, 2011 at 13:52 Posted on Planning 0 37

Hi,

I am still trying to decide my colour scheme. My partner is a Royal Marine so he will be in his "Blues" which is a dark navy blue suit with all the medals etc. Was hoping to go for something that would match him or a nice contrast. I will be in traditional ivory/white.

What colour schemes is everyone else going for?

    Hi!

Im in ivory, mens suits are charcoal grey & my bridesmaids & flowergirl are lipstick pink.

Im having silver table linen & grey bows on seat covers.

My flowers are ivory roses with pearls & beads to match my dress.

Men are having hot pink gerabra's and bridesmaids are having bouquets of hot pink gerabras & lilas roses - my mother is wearing a lilac outfit so thought it was add another colour to the flowers & tie in.

So my theme is sparkly, hot pink & newly added lilac!

    Flashes for Katy P

Bridesmaid dresses (Were £180 Karen Millen, but got them for £49.95, sale of the century or what!)

these are my centre peices sorry that the pic is rubbish its the long vase, roses will be cream but my florist literally through this together, see how she has thread the pearls through the foliage Im also having pearls in my bouquet.

Cake will only be a 3 tier with cream roses.

Favours will be cream boxes and with a saturn bow havnt got them yet, grooms attire is a navy suit with cream waistcoat and cravat.

Sorry for the overload of pics but I havnt flashed in so long and I got a bit excited lol!

I got my invites from theweddingcardprinters.co.uk They cost £130 for 45.

I love the dresses they look amazing on! I wanted to keep the theme fairly classic looking so when I look back in 10/20/30 years time my first thought isnt oh dear! lol. x

We're having midnight blue (or Spurs blue as the OH calls it!), dark silver and white.

BMs are in midnight blue with dark grey feathery shrugs and silvery grey shoes. Boys are in dark grey suits with midnight blue cravats & hankies, with silvery waistcoats.

Just to brighten it a bit I have shades of pale pinks and light blues in my bouquet, with the BMs having the same with the addition of some hot pink anemones - had to have some pink somewhere!

I didn't get a say in mine - as we're having our do at Bradford City (OH is a lifelong season ticket holder) we apparently *have* to have their colours - claret and amber. I'm leaning heavily towards the claret as that's just basically burgundy. The amber isn't a nice shade at all, it's like the crayola marigold crayon lol

So far, NOTHING is in amber, but I am going to make the bridesmaids flowers in amber, mine are claret. Their dresses will be claret - I couldn't be so cruel to make them wear the amber lol

    I suppose I do lol

To be honest, it's not one of the bits that I'm overly bothered about and I do really like the burgundy colour. If they played in hideous colours I'm sure I'd have had something to say about it!

I really want to make a mood board as well! How do you go about it? Is it simply finding pics and sticking them together?
