colour theme??

terri_cramp, 28 December, 2013 at 22:35 Posted on Planning 0 11

I'm so undecided... I've only been engaged a couple of months and I've changed my mind a million times already.. I finally thought I had a plan and showed my sister in-law who did not look impressed at all.... it sounds odd but I think they compliment each other really well, my thoughts are peach and gold. I obviously wouldn't put my bridesmaids in the puffy peach dress that every BM fears, I was also curious as to how the gold would come out in the photos.. not too sure it would come out well, for the invites and save the dates I was thinking about a glittery gold border. it really does look pretty.. i'm going to try add a picture of the save the dates I would want, but im not sure if it'll be a success, bare w
ith me... yay I think it worked... opinions please, what colours are you all having? X

Hi. I like your colours, remember it's your day so you choose what you want. My colours are white and pink. I love your save the dates and the confetti makes it extra special xxx

Peach is a beautiful colour scheme to have. I think if you keep the gold toned very subtle it'll tie in beautifully together.

I agree a toned down gold with peach would be lovely. I had the same problem and ended up changing my colour scheme 5 times. Everyone will have their opinion, no matter what colour you choose there will be people saying it's this or that. Ignore them and go with what you want or it'll stress you out. It's your day!

Its your day, have whatever suits you. We are having a black and red gothic theme which has horrified OH's 84 year old dad but it is very 'us'

Don't listen to anyone else, have what you want. It doesn't have to be matchy matchy, it's not going to look like a peach exploded over your wedding. I think peach with hints of gold would look lovely. People forget that a colour scheme is just a direction, it doesn't have to take over. Unless of course you want it to!

I had turquoise as my colour, I only had one bridesmaid in that colour, flower girl had the colour as a band on her dress, groom and best man had the colour in their ties and a few other bits of ribbon tied the colour in throughout the rest of the day. It doesn't need to be overpowering.

I'm so happy that I caught this post!!!

I started off the same way changing my mind every other day. But thats great to do!!! I have also gone with peach/Coral and Gold colour theme. For the bridesmaid dresses I looked at Twobirds bridesmaids (advertised on this site all the time Smiley laugh), they have just brought out a new collection of colours. I went for the coral colour. The dresses look very elegant so no flash backs to the puffy peach dresses!

In photos Gold comes out very pretty, and you can play around with different filters over the photos when its time to print. 'My partners a photographer'

I'm Now worrying about flowers to go with this colour theme.

    Hope this help's

    I love that colour scheme!!

Juat as others have said, it's your wedding so have what colours you want.... When it'd their wedding they can choose te colour scheme.

Unfortunately one of the downsides to getting married is having to listen to everyone's opinions!!

*must remind myself to copy before posting, in case rubbish internet connection deletes post that just took me 10 mins to type out*

Thank you for all your replies... Peach (soft rose is the new name for peach in this house) and gold it is!! until next week, ask me then and it may have changed, lol...

thank you to the lady that has reassured me about the gold in photos, one worry ticked off the forever growing list.. to the lady that suggested the website with the new colours I will definitely be checking that out for some inspiration and ideas.. and the gothic themed wedding I would love to see some picture of that once you've had your special day... i'm sure the old man will love it! X

I think it sounds/looks lovely. I have never seen that idea for save the dates either, really like it- maybe a note to save the confetti?!

We had different shades of green and purple, and nothing overly matched but it worked fine in the end Smiley smile
