colours dilemma!! help!!

KatiePips, 14 October, 2009 at 10:24 Posted on Planning 0 7

Hi,

I'm having a nightmare deciding what to do with my colour scheme... Wedding is next April in a converted barn so we decided on sage, lemon yellow and ivory to keep it fresh and springlike with an 'english country garden' type theme. I wanted the bridesmaids in Sage but am having serious problems tracking down the right dresses! Then when we sorted the suits out the other day I made a snap decision of going for yellowy gold cravats for the BM and my dad - they look lovely, waistcoats are Ivory with tiny gold spots and suits are charcoal (h2b is having Ivory cravat to match my dress). My problem now is that I'm not sure that the gold goes with sage!!! Do I change the colour of the cravats to green or to a pale yellow? And if I do will the waistcoats still match? Or do I change the green of the dresses to something a bit warmer like Kiwi and stick with gold as my accent colour? One of my bridesmaids is blonde and fair skinned, the other has brown hair and a darker complexion so want to find a colour to suit both of them.

Any advice/ideas/suggestions much appreciated!

Thank you!

xx

Gold and sage are a great combination in my opinion...

Have you looked at alfred angelo's dream in colour range??? on his web site there is an interactive colour chart so you can change the colour of the dresses you view. I managed to get the colours I wanted off the site and had fun messing about witht he different colurs and styles. Might just give you an alternative Smiley smile

Ooh, and I've just been looking at the Alfred Angelo range, don't know how I haven't come across that handy little tool of switching the colours around before! It's great! My faith in green dresses is restored!! Thank you! x

I spent ages playing around with the colours tool on the website, h2b had to prise me off it in the end! it' helped me find the right shade of purple for my bridesmaids as all i'd ben able to find till i stumbled across the site was cadburys purple which is too purple for my colour scheme. glad your faith in green has been restored!
