Following on from the teenage years thread, what comics/mags did you get when you were younger? I used to get Princess when I was about 10/12yrs which always had a free girly gift in like a bracelet or a notepad and had stories in about girls who went to boarding school. When I got to 12/13 and became interested in pop music/boys, I used to get Jackie - they always had a double centre pin up of somebody scrumptious to put on your bedroom wall! Fast forward two or three years and I used to get Melody Maker and NME.

For me it was Bunty, Mandy and Mizz when I got older. I tended to buy records (oh the good ole days!) more than magazines lol

Beano when I was young, then progressed to Sugar and Bliss, then J17, then More. Used to get Vox and Kerrang when going through teenage music obsession too.

I have 2 older brothers so i grew up with their hand me down Dandy and Beano annuals so they are the comics i always wanted to get!

i even rememebr when they had sweets or freebies attached to the front, i would be so carful with the sellotape as i didnt want to rip the comic becasue they would be worth something in years to come!

although I moaned about it, i guess having to watch Antiques Roadshow every sunday evening taught me some life lessons!!! ?

Earliest one I remember is Fast Forward. I entered a limerick competition in there and won Mark Owen's hat! I still have the issue where they published the winners.

Then moved onto Just 17 (before it became J17) and Mizz. Then Sugar and Bliss, but my mum picked up a copy of one of them and saw it contained an article on sex and banned me from reading it. I used to buy it in town on a Saturday and give it to my friend to bring to school on Monday!
