computer virus - email sent to everyone in my address book?

Have you virus checked your computer? If you dont have one it could be your account was hacked or mirrored in some way

I'm doing one just now.

I noticed it as I had received a mailer demon message and then I looked at my Sent box, it was in there. Very strange.

Its annoying when it happens hopefully your computer is ok

I've had this too - the very same email was sent to everyone in my hotmail address book. I have no access to my hotmail (and haven't for months) so have no idea how it happened. I only know about it because my work email address was in there so it spammed me too.

It has found a few things now, hopefully this will sort it.

Yup, thats what happened to me yesterday...it also deleted by blummin MSN contacts somehow so I have deleted that account and gone with a new one..

I emailed hotmail about it but got no response and no one on the internet seems to know what to do/how it got in, so im happier not having the account anymore (it wasnt my primary account, luckily).

I've received it back loads of times too, so even though I'm doing a virus check it could keep coming back to me. Dammit. People who create viruses should be rogered with a large pineapple.

I totally agree... I'm still gutted I lost all my contacts, especially my Hitched/HPAD ones..

Someone hancked my hotmail account years ago, and sent everyone an email saying I'd made my own web page could they go and check it out for me. when they clicked the link it came up with a website with a black box like you'd usually see video footage on, the link underneath said if you can't see the video click the link below (which would have then downloaded the virus)...unfortunately though there was no picture on the screen there was sound...of people having sex. Gutted
