the best Christmas day I ever had was all alone with the dog ( kids were at their Dad's) eating what I wanted , lying on the sofa in my new PJ's watching all the Christmas movies.

I don't understand the fuss about writing cards to everyone you have ever spoken to.....even 10 years ago.

I secretly hate that I can't cook Christmas dinner and my OH does it, what kind of Wifetobe/Mother am I??

I secretly love Christmas morning with the kids and OH in our pj's, colour co-ordinated trees are a must and being with the people I love (bit OTT for me!?)

I dont understand the need for tacky lighting displays all over the front of the house.

I secretly hate my In-laws cooking and the fact I have to go every year to a very unfestive, booze-free, dried out xmas dinner.

I secretly love brass bands in the high street playing xmas tunes, choirs on street corners and seeing the school kids preparing for their school carol concerts. So many happy memories for me.

Oh forgot to say....... I hate tinsel too!!!! Oh and cheap decorations.

And obvious cheap last minute presents....they say it's the thought that counts so thanks for those 5 seconds!!!! (OH's nan and I have issues)

I dont understand why my H2B doesnt like it, its our 1st Christmas together... at least pretend to be bothred! haha

I secretly hate not having any money to buy presents!

I love the christmas movies, unch, spending time with my family and that its me and hubbys first Christmas!!

I dont understand why my inlaws dont serve lemon with they're smoked salmon on christmas day

I secretly hate stuffing (although i eat my dads to keep him happy)

I secretly love good ole fashioned christmas carols and midnight mass (although i haven't been the last few years!)

why o why do i have to work christmas again!!!

I don't understand all the fuss about - Colour co-ordinating everything, I love a good mish mash of colour

I secretly hate - when I've finished unwrapping all my presents...they should be neverending! and having to get changed into nice 'christmas' clothes...I wanna stay in my jim jams ?

I secretly love - seeing people's faces when they unwrap their gifts (cheesy) but I have no other secrets...I don't think?!

? Perhaps it's a Bristol thing?

Also to add to things I hate (it could be a long list of I really thought about it!) The words "Xmas" and "Santa"?

I DON'T UNDERSTAND THE FUSS ABOUT: christmas cards. pointless waste of paper.

I SECRETLY HATE: christmas sales - arrrrgh. that i'm not 12 anymore and can't have a sack full of presents to open on christmas morning.

I OPENLY HATE: tacky christmas lights, stupid musical/dancing snowmen/birds/bears/creatures of any sort.

I SECRETLY LOVE: all the christmas songs in shops - i love them, i can't help it! am sat here at work with my 'christmas 08' playlist on! christmas at my mum's - there are 19 of us this year. getting presents! and giving them too. pretending that the house is decorating just for my birthday and not christmas!

I DONT UNDERSTAND THE FUSS ABOUT: christmas shopping - if people hate it so much do it online or buy vouchers ?!?!

I SECRETLY HATE: multi coloured lights on houses that give you a headache, Mince Pies, Christmas Pudding, Christmas Cake !!

I SECRETLY LOVE: getting new socks !! Christmas drinks parties, the white snowing effect lights on my house and wrapping pressis

I dont understand all the fuss about - Again, sending Xmas cards out to the world and his wife! so tedious and pointless.

I secretly hate - that I have to be "fair" and have Xmas dinner with the PiL2B this year, (he has spent it with mine past 2 years.) it's just so much more fun with my family! ? Also, that I have to take the time off work out of my holiday allowance!

I secretly love - Xmas songs on radio/in shops, choirs & carolers in the streets/shopping centres, seeing everyone open the pressies I bought them, being a bit more relaxed on the eating and drinking front (understatement!!), getting the Xmas decs up, being with the ones I love (sorry for the ? !)

I dont understand all the fuss about christmas full stop! Im really bah humbug this year.

I secretly hate having to buy people you not spoken to for months presents, christmas cards, tacky decorations, christmas songs...especially when people play them from November, television over christmas. I also hate the fact we couldnt cancel christmas this year when wedding is so close.

I secretly love mince pies! See not a total scrooge I do like something!!

I DON'T UNDERSTAND THE FUSS ABOUT: Another vote here for christmas cards, I only buy them so I don't look mean.

I SECRETLY HATE: Christmas/January sales - half the time they look like mass jumble sales full of angry people pushing and shoving (that could also be doubled up as my don't understand the fuss). Tinsel - Sorry but I can't stand the stuff. Coloured flashing lights. Musical santas. bright tacky outdoor decorations such as santa on a seesaw etc.

Sorry if I have offended anyone ? I probably shouldn't be a coward and admit that I openly hate all these things!

I SECRETLY LOVE: Getting loads of presents, having something other than turkey for Christmas dinner. Not having to go out of the house all day if I don't want to. Putting the Christmas tree up. Decorating the presents with curling ribbon and bows.

Don't understand the fuss about: The Queen's speech. She doesn't even write it herself!

Secretly hate: The fact that all the sales start on Boxing Day! That's still Christmas! And isn't everyone sick of shopping by then?? We are a nation of consumers and it drives me mad!

Secretly love: It takes Iain about an hour to write each Christmas card as he agonises over every word! Drives me mad at the same time, but I love how much thought and effort goes into each one!

I dont understand all the fuss about - Christmas! OH's family make SUCH a big deal out of it, WHY? It's just one day. And why exactly do I have to get dressed up just to stay in at MIL2B's house?!

I secretly hate - people asking if I'm "ready" for Christmas...yes! It's the same every year, exactly what do I need to be "ready" for.

I secretly love - having an excuse not to spend a fortune this year, it makes picking prezzies alot easier. Wrapping presents with pretty ribbons and bows, even if they only look good for about 10mins.

Oh I also secretly love dressing my little doggies up in their Chritmas outfits, they hate it but it's just soooo cute!

I don't understand the fuss about: New Years Eve - why is there this pressure to have the most fanastic plans and have the best night out of the year and get totally wasted... maybe I'm boring but the best New Years Eves I've had were at home with H2B and friends. The Queen's speech, never watched it, never will...

I secretly hate: the guilt trip we're getting for H2b's parents for not being there on Christmas day - H2b and I want to spend it together and you have three cats that I'm allergic too and think it's funny when they make me ill, you don't even have a tree up and you eat at 10pm every night and open presents at midnight, and we'll spend the whole day waiting to see if SIL2B will get of bed before we begin everything - really it was a no brainer!

I secretly love: that is going to be my first Christmas with H2b and family together on Christmas day, all those little Christmas traditions that are unique to our family and introducing them to H2B. The new Wallace and Gromit on Xmas day!

I secretly hate people who say they hate Christmas - Winter is a bloody miserable time of year so you need something to brighten it up.

I secretly love the food, the presents, the tacky Christmas music, the brass bands, the thought of a white Christmas and tinsle.

I don't understand the fuss about NEW YEARS EVE-always, always a bag of sh*te!!

I secretly hate shopping for xmas presents- wish it was like the old days and I could just get people a tangarine and peanut in an old sock. and I haaaaate the fecking songs they play in the shops, makes me want to kill myself and everyone around me (I`m pre menstrual). my mum`s fibre optic xmas tree.

I secretly love christmas songs (at home only), eating like a heffer til I collapse, getting presents (what a selfish girl I am), having a tastefully decorated real tree!

I don't understand the fuss about Christmas cards - yep another vote! Especially when people give them on Christmas day - who wants cards, I want the presents ? (Selfish I know)

I secretly hate people boasting when they have got all of the their Christmas presents before it is even December. It's not a blooming competition! Oh and Pil2b getting funny if we don't go there for Christmas day. Drives me mad. It's always better at my parents! ?

I secretly love being with my whole family for a day where no-one has to go anywhere, singing Christmas songs, organising the school play, decorating the tree.

I don't understand the fuss about the way loads of people act like Xmas is the end of the world ie: frantic planning to ensure you see each other *before* Xmas. Why? Do we fall into a black hole on December 27th? Do we b*llocks.

I secretly hate the whole fascist consumerism of Xmas. mass spending isn't quiiiiiiiiiiite what Xmas is about. I also hate Xmas shopping. and new years eve. I mean really, you get a new years eve every year. What's the big deal? i hate that feeling of needing to be at the *best* party and never quite finding it. Last year we stayed in, got drunk, played strip monty python..... and then watched all the fireworks going off from our sitting room windows in our cosy flat.

I secretly love managing to get the perfect present for someone that they totally love. Spending time with my family and my inlaws. Staying in my pjs and eating my bodyweight in food on Xmas day (when with inlaws) or starting with bucks fizz and getting hammered in my posh clothes on Xmas day (my family) Listening to Bing Crosby. Watching the Snow Man. PLAYING CHARADES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I secretly hate Christmas. I love my family and friends, speak to my family and friends, see my family and friends throughout the year, celebrate their birthdays with them where possible and I don't need some stupid consumer driven, greedy commercial shyte to let my family and friends know I care about them.

I secretly love - no, I openly love going on holiday for xmas to a country that doesn't celebrate christmas.

I don't understand the fuss about stockings - thats probably cos I've never had one. As my Mum is German we've always celebrated German style which doesn't include stockings and means we open presents on Christmas eve evening.

I secretly hate fake Christmas trees (sorry to the mass I might have offended, though I will admit you can get some good looking ones now but still can't beat a real tree in my opinion), people putting trees up on the 1st Dec (oops probably offended a few more), coloured fairy lights and fairies on top of the tree.

I secretly love christmas carols/music, a good traditional turkey dinner with all the trimmings (being in New Zealand in summer its not quite the same), a cold crisp Christmas morning, mince pies (YUM!!), being around family and our good old family traditions.

I dont understand the fuss about: why we all have to meet up before christmas. Are we really not going to see each other again until next christmas?!

I secretly hate: MIL2B's attempts to make sure that mr delicious and i spend at least one day with them over christmas, and that i then eat three christmas dinners in a row, because she won't allow us to do alternating years! I also secretly hate that father christmas comes so early in my house, why can't he come at say 9.30/10ish?

I secretly love: Color co-ordinating my wrapping paper with the ribbons and bows and glittery gift tags, the amount of wine and baileys i'm allowed to drink almost guilt free, and unwrapping presents because i simply can't stand surprises! (and next year im also secretly loving looking forward to my engagement ring finally arriving!)
