I don't understand the fuss about - THE dress!!

I secretly hate - cheesy posed photos

I secretly love - having the power to plan a whole day for lots of people!!

I dont understand the fuss about - sky lanterns (sorry... its just me.....)

I secretly hate - the thought of having a videographer

I secretly love - nosing at other peoples wedding photos.....

Ok, me to - I'm not shy!

I dont understand the fuss about - flowers and the table names / numbers debates

I secretly hate - receiving lines

I secretly love - the fact i get to be a princess for a day

I don't understand the fuss about - cakes - they get eaten in 10 mins for heavens sake!

I secretly hate - all the family politics involved and the grief it gives fellow hitchers

I secretly love - My dress...It's no secret and I know I shouldn't rattle on but I want to wear it for more than one day!!!

I am also a 1977 baby!!!

I dont understand the fuss about - Worrying about what guests/family want. Chocolate fountains. Animals at weddings. Table names. I could go on but i've probably upset a few already.

I secretly hate - People bouncing their own threads (unless they need someone to see it).

I secretly love - Looking at peoples photos.

I dont understand the fuss about - inviting everyone both families know (mum wants me to invite her neighbour and future BIL's dad to the evening - um . . . no!).

I secretly hate - wedding shoes (I'm sorry but most of them are hideous!)

I secretly love - looking at wedding pics and stationery pics (especially if they are DIY ones - sad I know)!

Hope you don't mean me bouncing my own threads! It looks like that's what I do but that's only because I'm 6 hours ahead normally so by the time I get to read the responses to my own threads, you're all in bed, but it does look like I bounce them!

I dont understand the fuss about the cake either. Its a cake. it gets eaten or binned.

I don't understand the fuss about - Expensive hen weekends/weeks...sorry but going abroad somewhere for 5 days, whats all that about?? What's wrong with a nice meal/p*ss up locally where everyone can come and afford it.

I secretly hate -table confetti, money poems, doves, butterflies, those tacky horseshoe things, L Plates, willies on hen nights.

I dont understand the fuss about - finding "the one" when it comes to your dress, i didn't cry when i put mine on, it was one that i thought looked most flattering on me out of the ones i tried and i also happened to like it

I secretly hate - posing for photographs which is why we're not having a proper photographer, i'd rather have loads of informal ones taken by friends and family

I secretly love - cheesy music at wedding receptions, bring on the steps, wham, take that etc.

This is one of the things I'm most nervous about!

Or the people that get in a strop when one of their friends can't afford to go on a weekend away somewhere. How they then turn into the worst friend in the world as this is for the most important day of their lives! People haven't got the money sometimes!!!!

I don't understand the fuss about - wedding cars, favours, bands/singers/string quartets/harpists

I secretly hate - all ivory bunches of flowers, doves, chimney sweeps (wtf?!!?), raucous hen nights/weekends, that my h2b doesn't understand how important it is to my parents to invite 2 of their best friends in the world (a small compromise in my eyes as they are paying for the whole reception...)

I secretly love - wedding magazines, and tearing pics out for inspiration. that my sister is almost as excited as i am on the hunt for The Dress!

Haha! I had never heard of these till I joined hitched, and someone had to explain to me. Why would someone want one? Thats the bit I dont understand!!

I have no idea ! I suppose 30 years ago people didn't have big receptions like they do now and everyone went to the church and for a few sandwiches. Just annoyed I have to invite a bunch of old women but can't invite some friends. I hope they bring big presents !
