Confetti?

Pink Han-bag, 14 January, 2013 at 09:59 Posted on Planning 0 13

Where have/are you getting it from? All the venue stipulate is that it's biodegradable.

TIA

I got mine from Amazon. The venue didn't stipulate but I wanted to buy biodegradable anyway. I got 24 little boxes (we're having 50 guests so I think that'll be more than enough) for £15

Bubbles!! They are 'biodegradable' and nice and slow for photos! ?

You might not want bubble soap all over your dress though...! ?

Bubbles for us too, the kids will love it and it'll soon dry up outside in July (I hope!)

The kids will have bubbles in their bags but I don't want them all over my dress if I can help it!

Will check out the places mentioned, thank you.

My best friend bought us an enormous bunch of roses for our engagement, which we dried for confetti. We've been buying very reduced, wilting roses from supermarkets and drying them as we go along ever since, hopefully we'll have enough when the time comes!

    I like this!

How are you drying them, and do you know how long they will keep before they start to decompose?

Thats going to be a new one at weddings ----- compost !!!

The idea of drying is also to preserve them.

You could use fresh if in season, - get family to grow them for you

    Compost ? I hope not!!

LC to Be: We've been separating the petals out and spreading them on a tray, then putting them in a warm place (most recently on top of the boiler). Have to keep turning them over as the bottom ones can stick quite easily. They usually take about 3-5 days. They're all in shoe boxes now, hopefully not rotting!!! Some have gone a little bit browner, but not very much. I might put something with rose oil in with them for the last few months, to try cheat and add to the scent a little.

As to how long they'll keep, not sure. They all seem fine, and the oldest ones are a year old. They're not showing any signs of decomposition yet so fingers crossed! I haven't put them in sealed containers, I'd be worried that they might sweat and go soggy.

I got mine from eBay, from a woman called Snow Pixie, she does loads of shapes and colours so I went with green and ivory butterflies!
