Confetti? Help please :)

2016bride88, 9 August, 2014 at 19:07 Posted on Planning 0 15

I love the idea of making my own confetti cones (I'm sure Ive seen previous posts about it on here already so my apologies).

I've seen the tutorial on how to make my own cones out of paper doilies but where can I buy confetti cheap or how can I make it?

Thanks Smiley smile x

I got paper doilies from the pound shop - 60 in a packet and I brought some confetti from ebay (butterfly shape about £3) and there is a florist warehouse near where I live and I brought some large petals for about £2 and traditional confetti for about 79p. I think it should be enough to fill the 20 cones I made. I've seen traditional confetti in the Card Factory but if you want real petals I think Shropshire Petals has been mentioned on here a few times before.

I'm pretty sure you can get the natural flower petal type confetti from notonthehighstreet in a big bag... I can try to find a link if interested?

I have no idea sorry. There was only choice of size but they were a decent size. I just cut a segment out of mine like a pizza and rolled it round and glued it. I practiced on quite a few until I got the right size.

I used 10inch dollies cut in half. I made a template using card the correct size and the just wrapped the dollies around and secured with double sided table. If you imagine the semi-circle of dollie, I put a strip of tape up to half way along the straight edge and then rolled around the template starting from the half without tape. As for confetti I made my own using petals. I dried them out I. The oven on gas mark 1 although my mum left hers on a tray in the conservatory. I would suggest only bright pinks or yellows as I am. To too keen on the cream. Red goes really dark. I would suggest getting a cheap bunch of roses and trying. It really was easier than I thought . Good luck x

Have a look here as I have put together some ideas for confetti cones from what I have seen over the years.

Here is close up of a basket of doillies, but avoid the same type of confetti as it can be very scratchy and itchy down your top. !
