Confetti Question

22tango, 14 March, 2010 at 10:32 Posted on Planning 0 14

Hi hitchers any recommendations for a supplier on this one?

I was going to go with the real flower petal confetti company but it adds up to about 40 quid for 3 pints which will give me 30 small cones apparently - that can't be right, right? I'm getting a bit confused with quantities there so any enlightenment is most welcome!

No 3 pints should make about 10 small cones. I am going for real petals too although i havent sourced our supplier yet i do know there are loads out there so just got to keep googling and checking prices till you are happy you got the best deal.

I have seen some people providing it in a basket in little cones for the guests. Personally i take my own to weddings! but i think its an added expense...if its what you want to do...go for it! My harpist is my added expense! You can buy confetti packets in bulk also, if you wanted to do that option!

We are supplying confetti for our guests, as the photographer likes to do a big confetti shot. Knowing my luck no one will bring any LOL

I ordered mine from here https://www.confettidirect.co.uk/

It is the real petals and was more expensive than other places. However, the other stuff i saw looked like pot pourri and after reading another hitchers comment about it being scratchy, I decided to go with the real stuff. My other reason was for the environment. I only ordered 2 pints as I guess some people will take their own.

I bought some petal type ones from Confetti but they were a bit scratchy, got some heart shaped pockets and stuffed them and put them in a wicker basket (£1 from the pound shop!) and got the MC to hand out whilst we were signing the register.

I bought ours 'cos PL don't allow you to chuck it outside so it meant I could control when the confetti shot was iyswim!

Not long now, how exciting :-)

We planted a rose bush in my mums garden when my gran's died, and again when my brother died. So we're going to pick the roses from them which will make them feel closer, since neither of them will be there, and also ask my florist for some spare rose petals to ensure we have loads. xx

Bailey, that's such a lovely and sad thing all at the same time. I think it's a beautiful touch to ensure that they're there with you.

Thanks I really wish they were going to be there but unfortunately no amount of wishing can do that. So I suggested rose petals to my mum for confetti and she asked if I would like to use the roses we planted for them. I just knew straight away that's what I wanted. xx

BW I think its a really beautiful thought what you're doing.

Sprouty - thanks for the support as always - not long at all now - its all happening really quickly and got loads to do still as well as the whole family descending on us. phew!

P.s I'm supplying them because we are only allowed confetti in the building and as sprouty said thats one way to control it - but also at my sister's wedding NO ONE brought confetti and she was so disappointed, I don't really want to take chances.

    Hi

I went to a wedding recently who had this gorgeous box with confetti cones filled with confetti for the guests from Shropshire Petals, the bride kept the box after for keep-sakes to remember the wedding.

I am going to get a few for my wedding, I saw at the National Wedding Show they have a new one coming out, have a look below its gorgeous and you can choose petals to match your colour scheme.

    Hi Tango,

As you know I also got married at PL I just bought enough to make sure that we had enough for the last 2 people sitting on outside of each isle (so 4 to each isle) my ushers hand these out once everyone was seated.I bought 2 litres of these petals https://www.hitched.co.uk/wedding-store/p-1246-picknmix-petals-cookies-cream-2-litre.aspx and 20 cones - this was more than enough. I then got a shoe box and wrapped in a nice wrapping paper and placed the cone inside!

    HTH

Which room are you getting married in?

    Jen
