Confused about flowers

bliss_balloons , 18 March, 2014 at 10:14 Posted on Planning 0 1

Flowers seem to be the hardest part of wedding planning so far! We're not really fussed about flowers and don't want to spend much on something that's going to last one day so not really sure what to have. I know I need bouquet for me and my one bridesmaid and then some buttonholes. We're not having flowers for centerpeices to keep costs down but not sure if we should have some dotted about the place for decoration. We're getting married in a hotel so they'll be three main rooms we'll be using, I just don't want the place to look bare without flowers. Also should I have some flowers at the end of the alter where we get married, would it look odd with nothing there? How did everyone get quotes, do you just email florists with what you want and they give you a price or do you need to meet with them to go through it all? I've got some brooches from my gran would a florist be able to incorporate them into a fresh flower bouquet? Sorry I'm clueless, any advice appreciated.

Hiya. Im not at all a flowery girl so I've gone for foam flowers! A friend of mine runs a foam wedding flowers business and I think im paying £140ish for my bouquet, 3 bridesmaids bouquets and 6 buttonholes! Which is a bargain considering most fresh florists charge around £70 for a bridal bouquet. Have a search on facebook for people local to you, but ill give you the link to my friend, and she posts nationwide :-)

Hi - we used two sources for the flowers. A florist for the bouquets, buttonholes and a display for the top table and then the church ladies did the flowers in the church. We also took two large displays from the church to the venue and used them to 'fill-in' spaces and it worked very well - after all if you've paid for them you might as well use them!!
