In my old job one of the guys there was obsessed with the Illuminati? theory.

Load of old twaddle to me.

OH is convinced that a plane did not fly into the pentagon, he has even brought books and dvds about it.

The only one I've ever really thought about was Princess Di's death. I'm sure I'm not alone in wondering whether it really was just an accident.

Oh my H is obsessed with 9/11. His friend gave him a DVD a few months back which is supposed to prove that the American government was behind it all and it was all a set up so that they had an excuse to start the war. A complete load of rubbish and I told him to give it straight back as it's just disrespectful to the victims and their families.

I am fascinated by them too!!

There were loads of 9/11 ones and Diana ones etc.

Something about no visible plane parts sticking out, erm power cables still standing in what should have been plane trajectory and something else. He thinks it was a missile of somekind

He can't however explain where the plane and all the passengers are!

There a film about something like this, I watched it the other week. It had Sean Penn in it & Naomi whatsherface. It was an American woman working for the CIA (is that the American secret service?) and the Gvnmt sent her husband to check out these tubes that they thought *could* be used for weapons of mass destruction. He came back and concluded that it's not possible for them to be weapons, but the Gvmnt just ignored his findings and used them as an excuse to go to war.

I'm not sure how much of it was true, because, I think, the true bit of the film was about how they illegally released the identity of the woman to the public & she took them to court etc...

How weird would it be if, one day, someone discovered all those people living in an underground prison in the Whitehouse. Oooooooh.

I heard one about Katie Holmes and Tom Cruise that Suri is not Tom Cruises baby but from her previous relationship. Katie got pregnant very quickly after getting with Tom, there were no photo's for Suri first born.

I don't know. But I do like a good conspiracy. Think the best one was that the Titanic didn't sink. But that got poo poo'd after they found her.

Can't believe nobody's mentioned this one yet, but I'm intrigued by the theory that the Americans never landed on the moon. Something about the flag appearing to blow about even though there's no breeze on the moon. Would like to read more about that.

Iv read a couple. 9/11, and that it was a cover up, planned and all to do with politics. I dont believe it but they do a good job convincing you!

i like this one...watched a very convincing documentary on the history channel (at about 11pm on 9/11 2001 as it happens) with my dad when we couldn't bear to watch the news any longer.

Never heard the TomKat one before, but its intriguing isn't it.

I don't generally buy into conspiracy theories. I think if someone wants to believe something enough then they will believe almost anything. I find them intriguing, but as much for the psychology of it as the actual theories.

the 9/11 and princess diana (and anyone murdered or dead in these circumstances) theories are ones I really don't like though. I think its just disrespectful to keep going on about them.

One of the 9/11 ones that stuck in my mind was that prior to 9/11 there had been lets say 100 planes that had flown off course and air force jets were scrambled to them within 10 mins. The 4 planes flew off course for over an hour with no interferenece at all from the American government.

I used to read a lot of the 9/11 conspiracy theories.

The way the towers fell looks like detonations going off as it implodes, pictures of the planes having missile type objects underneath, the pentagon being hit by a plane but no plane to be found, news footage banned from being shown on air but is online that contradicts what we were being fed by the media the list goes on..

The result, we went to war on Afghanistan then did a 360 and went to Iraq for the oil.

I remember watching a movie about atrocities carried out by Americans and they said we will blame it on terrorists nobody will question it... ?

Has any one heard about the titanic conspiracys ? They say that the owners white star line planned the disaster in a insurance scam as they were nearly bankrupt !! I watched a programme on it not so long ago ! They always make them look so real and interesting , I think we will never know the real truth about things ,like in national treasure : book of secrets with Nicholas cage , the queen might have a book of secrets with the truth of these conspiracys in!!

All the moon conspiracies have been laid to rest by Adam and Jamie from Mythbusters - the flag was moving under gravity.

I thought the Diana conspiracy was that she was pregnant and MI6 organised it...

I heard that Diana was pregnant, it wasn't Dodi's and even though it was an accident the pregnancy was hidden to protect the Princes.

I have read up about a few celebrities being in 'hiding' rather than dead as they were fed up with the fame and wanted a break. Tupac was meant to have released a song before his 'death' which when listened to backwards says i am alive, the same apparently with kel from kenan and kel, some people say he got shot and died others say he is in hiding.

Also with Michael Jackson there has been a few photos of him supposedly after his 'death'

But these all seem a bit far'fetched!

I can't remember the details, but i remember hearing that it wasn't the Titanic that sank, but it's sister ship the olympic. And there was video footage of the wreckage that didn't match up to the images of the Titanic when it was docked...or something similar.

One of the most unusual ones I heard was that JFK didn't die on November 22, 1963. But he was severely brain damaged, and the government said he had died.

A few years later he was seen, by a fisherman, on an Island owned by a very wealthy Greek man, in a wheel chair sat looking out to sea. The story goes that the fisher man was then escorted off the island by CIA agents. The owner of the island later became Jackie Kennedy's husband?! I think there was more evidence to this one but can't remember.

Now that's a really good one. There's too many inconsistencies with that one! The whole "Missing First Ambulance," but in the last few years he driver came out and said he had attended. Where did her organs go?? But there are so many more.

The Titanic and the Olympic had slightly different formation of windows. When they found the Titanic at the bottom the image showed that the windows were in the formation of the Olympic NOT the Titanic. It is said that White Star Line had an empty ship full of Blankets, clothes and food - enough for everyone on board. But that the Titanic sank earlier than planned.

But I think this conspiracy comes from the original Dockers who built the Titanic and Olympic in Belfast as they knew the differences.

I'm not sure that Kurt Cobain killed himself. He was all set to leave Nirvana and Courtney Love. He had changed his will before he died so CL wasn't entitled to anything - he never got round to signing it. He had one way plane tickets for him and another woman and was apparently off to start a new life. There is some debate as to whether he would have been able to have shot himself after the amount of heroin he had taken.
