Is anyone else perpetually hungry atm? i cannot stop eating. i'm packing away three huge meals a day plus snacks and puddings. this is soooo unlike me ?

is it the time of year, do you think? <clutching at straws>. or maybe i have worms?

I had this in early pregnancy (4-10 weeks). I couldn't eat enough food and I am normally a very light eater.

I think the weather doesn't help and it's always stodge as well!

Well I have to say it's a nice surprise to have you suggesting cake to me rather than the other way round ?

Time of year - your body is preparing for the possibility of a long hard winter and having to look after a child through it as well. And more yoga than normal people do too ?

Time of year; I brought soup and a yoghurt to work for my lunch yesterday and ending up ditching that for a lardy sandwich and massive slab of ginger cake instead. I was like a carb-seeking zombie: "Caaaaaarbs..."

    Are you me? ?

I am usually quite healthy-ish. However, I have in recent weeks been eating like an absolute pig - I am hungry all the bloody time. I want carbs (mainly cake) a lot.

Also, I've realised that I am a total comfort eater, since OFSTED and dad's robbery I have been craving really stodgy stuff. I'm going to enter 2009 2st heavier at this rate.

    Ditto. ?

And I posted something similar about 2 weeks ago, Foxy.

I am waiting for my tattie to hurry up and bake and I am so hungry, I'm eyeing up the (world's most neediest) cat and wondering how long it would take to skin and roast her...

This was me yesterday...I had a nice New Covent Garden chicken and veg soup with an apple and grapes. Did I eat them? No sireee. I went to Gregg's and bought a festive chicken, bacon, cranberry and stuffing roll and an apple danish. Then went to Starbucks with friend after work, had a gingerbread latte and shared a panini. Had dinner of chop and salad, then had 2 chocolate eclairs with a cup of tea. Oh dear, that looks so much worse now I've written it down.

See, if i'm sad or upset i stop eating. so i guess this is kind of A Good Thing.

ruby, i have had cake every day this week. today i had millionaires shorthbread, a puff pastry mince pie thing, two advent calendar chocolates and i'm just about to take a mince pie out of the oven. and that's just the sweet stuff.

Yeah, but I ate half the shortbread and half the mince pie thingy so they don't count.

This is me too, I do not fancy any of the Christmassy food that is about at the moment, which would normally be a good thing but my BMI is now 19 so I need to get happy again! Preferably while there is still some Christmas food still in the house ?

Woohoo - so many other people are feeling the same as me! I've been hungry 24/7 for the past couple of weeks and I'm a little low in mood at the moment but not enough to warrant the massive pig-out I'm in the middle of.

Although a lot of what you guys seem to think is "eating a lot" to me sounds like a normal day...?

You're preparing to hibernate. I am too. I'm going to bed earlier, getting up later and eating more pastry. It's not good. And i haven't left the house since Monday (mind you it's been snowing constantly since then, so I have a good excuse...)

Ooh lucky you, that sounds fab. Have a great time!

Our dentist is the one in the awful rundown shopping centre near the square-about - but I think I may have passed near your street on the way from there into the centre.

Yes, thankfully you're not too close to the dentist. ? The place is fearsome but the surgery has a new principal who seems nice and competent.

I had to get R back to nursery and me back to work but next time!

    <waves daim bar clutching hand>

Oh god I could eat the computer. I'm like a bloody hoover. I've put on half a stone since my wedding. I'm in denial at the moment.

In fact last nigth I was so hungry and all I had in the house was mixed mints so I ate 56 mints. I counted the wrappers. I had forgotten of their, er, laxative qualities. I'm not totally adverse to fodd whcih fills you up but doesn't stay on your body, mind.
