Cooking A Fry Up On The Morning Of Your Wedding?

Rizzo, 10 November, 2010 at 19:45 Posted on Planning 0 27

My friend has offered to cook me a fry up but I don't know whether it will be a good idea or not. What are you having for breakfast on your wedding day?

Probably something like light toast or a croissant! I'll be feeling sick with nerves so wont be able to stomach something like that!

Oooo I can never eat a fry up and have managed to convert my OH away from them onto what he now affectionately calls an oven up (sausages and bacon cooked in the oven and poached egg with beans if he wants) the smell of the fat cooking in a fry up turns my stomach. So I will probably have some fruit and then pick at something carbohydrateish a roll or croissant and then onto the Champagne for me!!

I'm a no vote on the fry up, i find the smell soaks into everything perhaps not a good scent for the big day ( although i wouldnt say no to a bacon roll lol )

Urgh I couldn't stomach one. All of the grease would be way too heavy on my stomach. Some people even fry potato waffles, it's way too much to take on. I will probably be having some kind of continental breakfast if I can manage!

    I couldn't have for a few reasons:

NO time whatsoever depsite getting up at 7.30m and wedding not until 1.30pm.

They make me ill but I still eat them but ill on my wedding day wasn't part of the plan

I only eat hubbys fry ups and he was kinda busy as well!

Full tummy plus tight corset = being sick

I only had one tiny sausage roll and not because of nerves really just more because of time.

After the ceremony I was starving and dived into the cupcakes we had although I said to H afterwards that I didn't even get a cupcake (fully believed this as well) but the DVD captured me, eeek!

We didnt get married until 4pm so we were quite relaxed in getting ready!

My sister went and got us all a Mc Donalds breakfast...

I had a double sausage and egg mc muffin, 2 hash browns and a hot chocolate but admitedly i couldnt eat it all because i was suffering from morning sickness. It took me about an hour to get half way through it!

After that i sat and ate loads of haribo!

You should definately eat something though otherwise you will feel dizzy and get bloated with air! (well i do when i dont eat!) x

I reckon my Mum will be itching to feed us all with bacon butties... Or insist that i have something filling like oaty cereal to keep me going! If there's a lot of us in the house it might be an idea to send someone out for food though! The ceremony starts at 1 so think we'll be pushed for time!!

Totally not anwering the question but: Where will she be cooking it? You don't want your dress to be smelling of fry-ups?

My mom has banned me from having anything smelly to eat in the house from when my dress is brought home, so it's not going to be picked up until the day before the wedding. Smiley smile

But.. I am getting my delightful brother to bring McDonalds for my Mom, 4 bridesmaids etc. I will be having my fave: 2 slices of Wholemeal nutty toast with my first bottle of champers..

As i'm getting married at 3pm, I also am going to have some lunch around 1pm - I am sooo awfully stroppy when I'm hungry (My emergency kit will include a tolberone for OH and specail K bites for me!)

I have the double worry of breakfast and lunch as we don't get married until gone five pm! I'm not really one for breakfast - naughty I know but a fact. I think I should try to make an effort that day though as I should imagine come lunch time the nerves will be kicking in and my appetite will go. Not sure if I will do the full english or not yet though. May give it a go as if I miss lunch there will be nothing else until about 8pm and not sure everyone will want to hear my tummy gurgling away during the ceremony.

I've not kept food down since Monday night so I'm running on empty and been told not to eat for 24 hours.. But the thought of a fry up is making me feel funky. All that grease.. urghhhhhhhhh!

I think on the morning of my wedding I would go for muesli, fruit and yoghurt.

The woman who runs the house we're staying in will come in to cook us breakfast. I definitely want something tasty involving bacon, though. It's a big house so I'm not worried about the smell!

I didn't think I would be able to eat anything on the morning. But I suprised myself.

We went down for breakfast at the hotel. I had a croissant and a bowl of cereal at that was it. I couldn't stomach a full cooked breakfast.... I did the morning after though!!!

If you think you will be able to eat it then go for it. you need all the food to soak up the alcohol!!

    I barely ate all day!

I never eat breakfast but my mum did get in some pastries - I took one bite and it felt like it was swelling in my mouth so I stopped! H had most of my starter and H and my Dad shared my main. H didn't like his dessert so he had mine too. In the evening I had a bit of cake and one spring roll off of MIL's plate and that was it all day. Was too hyped up to do hungry but I don't advise this as a fainting bride is never a good thing! ?

Ill probably have somethng like scrambled eggs on toast, with an espresso coffee followed by a glass of champers, its going to be complete bedlam but I would like just 20 mins to sit try and relax with my Mum and Bm's to eat before all the madness starts.
