Copying ceremony music onto a cd

Soon to be Mrs W, 6 March, 2011 at 10:10 Posted on Planning 0 4

We are currently trying to sort out our music for our civil ceremony. The problem we have is, ive bought the tracks off Itunes and now they are in the wrong format (M4a) to play from a cd. The tracks will copy and play through a laptop, but when the disc is put in a cd player it doesnt recognise it. I have converted them to MP3 files but this doesnt work either.

Has anyone else had this problem and does anyone know how to fix it?

You need to use a CD making program to make an audio CD. I think you are just putting the MP3 files onto a disc, and CD players can't usually play these (some can). Check in your CD burning software for an audio CD option. When you put the tracks on, it should show you time left rather than disc space left.

Try getting a free trial for Nero (http://www.nero.com/eng/) if you don't have burning software already.

Do you know whether you would you use the MP3 version of the tracks to copy on to the cd via Nero?

You can use MP3 tracks to make an audio CD. You can probably use the itunes tracks too, just try dragging them onto your audio CD and seeing whether Nero likes them. The MP3s will definitely work though.

Some older CD players can't play mp3 files on a CD - the CD player in my car can't, for example.

If you use something like Nero to create a "audio cd" it should, I think, convert them into a format which will play on most CD players.

You can create an audio cd from itunes. ive done it plenty of times. create a playlist, right click on chosen playlist then select burn playlist to disc. this plays both in my car and on my cd player. hope this solves your problem.
