Correct way to address a letter

Crumbalina, 28 April, 2008 at 12:49 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 3

If I am writing an informal letter to a Ms, how do I start the letter, I always thought it was Dear Madam - is this the case if it is a Ms?

Having a blonde day!

TIA

If you know she's a Ms, can you not address it to Dear Ms. Sosndso?

Just as badkitti says put Dear Ms Whosit and finish it yours sincerely, but if you put Dear Madam you would finish it yours faithfully. ?

If you know her name (I wondered if you do as you know she's a Ms.) I would use that name over an impersonal Madam any time.
