Cost of favours

Cornelius, 25 February, 2010 at 20:52 Posted on Planning 0 16

I know everyone's budget is different but what would you say the average spend on a favour should be?
I was thinking of spending £1-£1.50 per person but have just seen these jars and think they are pretty cool (slightly over budget though)... what do you think??

We are just looking at getting organza bags and filling them with chocolates so in total shouldnt cost more than £15

They look great though. I just looked on ebay and you can get 48 for £78, which works out at 62p each....pretty good i reckon?

We're not having favours. We can't do with the fuss & everyone is having free food and free drink and free entertainment all day and all night - we're of the opinion that that's enough of a favour ;-)

I'm not a favour fan i'm afraid - silly new-fangled American "tradition" if you ask me ?

As far as your question goes about what's normal, I dont' think there is a normal. Ranges from simple choclates to lavish gifts. I'd say if you feel happy to spend the money on the jars then you should go for it. If not, there's may alterntive containers you could use.

Ours have worked out about £30 for 50 people. Got blue millions sweets for the men as they are my OH favourites, and got heart shaped seed papers in our colour of royal blue for the ladies, they grow hopefully when you plant them. this includes an extra 20 seed papers we bought but didnt need as I forgot we didnt need them for the men. Got them from ebay.

I think I have gone a little nutty with mine! I've made pearl bracelets for all the ladies and getting lottery tickets for the guys. I wanted to give the girls something really special, I wasn't going to bother with the guys as they usually chuck favours away but h2b insisted on equality!!

We are not decided if we are doing favours.........think they are a waste of money and people don't appreciate them. Also people are getting a mea and wine with dinner. XOXOXOXOXO

I dont think its morbid at all and i think people who are against your idea should hang their heads in shame - i lost my FIL to be from cancer 2 years ago and witnessed him lose his life it was dreadful and we didnt manage to say goodbye properly as the ward would not let us in in time, i would not put my worst enemy through it, and we miss him very much. So good for you for helping such a worthy cause xxx

    Hi all!

I went for "Wildflower Favours" - plantable bits of paper with your own message printed on - 39p each... i think they're really cute and as a lot of people are flying in, easy to chuck in your hand luggage
