could i ask one of the togs for advice pls

charliejack, 23 October, 2014 at 15:40 Posted on Planning 0 7

Just wondered if one of the togs could advise me pls.

We have received our wedding photos on discs today, they are amazing!! only thing thats annnoying me is in some of the photos the indentation of my hoop thru my dress is clearly showing because we walked around a bit for pics and my bridesmaids never thought to straighten out the bottom of the dress and when i look at it i just see the hoop.

ive not emailed my tog about it as i wasnt sure if it was a stupid question, but can anything be done retouching or editing wise? Not asking any of the togs on here to do it, just wondered if it could be done

Thanks xx

I think I know what you mean- are the lines in the hoop showing through the dress?

It's hard to say what can be done without seeing an example of what you mean, but it's more than likely something that can be sorted out. Depending on the photos it could be anything from a quick 1 or two click fix through to something a little more complicated.

There's no such thing as a stupid question though and i'm sure your TOG wouldn't mind you getting in touch about it at al. That's what they are there for Smiley smile

Sounds ilke an eaisy fix and im sure that your photographer should have no problems sorting it for you.

Somtimes when I am shooting a dress from the back on some stairs you can see the edge of the stair treads through the train and it looks like lines on the dress so I take those out, without seeing a picture from what you say it sounds somthing like this is perhaps going on.

I will add a flash. we have looked at it closer and also remembered my husband was holding the train off the floor , therefore pulling it tighter

I imagine it will depend on the skill of the photographer and the terms of the contract.

Sometimes there is definitely an air of goodwill in which we get asked to do a little something to a photo or two.

But some photographers don't use photoshop, which this requires. Certain things like this fall under the hair and chins dept where it's outside of the normal editing remit for many.

But, it's also something a photographer would usually spot during the group shots. We're always on the lookout for gift bags, glasses of wine and sunglasses...so we'd spot that too!

    See what they say.

If it's a few photos then I'm sure they wouldn't mind doing it. If it's a lot then they could want a bit extra. Depends on their skill with photoshop really.

What Chris said above really, for me and a few other photographers would have noticed this but sometimes things happen and it gets past you. A lot of photographers don't use photoshop like Chris said but there is no harm in asking your photographer, there shouldn't be that many? If not I don't mind having a look for you if it is ok with your photographer but ask them first if there is any thing that can be done.

Well spoken to my photographer, he said no prob with getting them retouched, i just have to mention it on my album choices, so i gather he will do it for any that i want going into the album which is fair play by me. its an album of 40 photos and i have over 300 to choose from so it will only be a few he has to do.

Thanks again for all your help, everyone xx
