Counting Down the Weeks now....

Rod, 12 June, 2011 at 13:13 Posted on Planning 0 28

OH has been working all weekend so I have been floating around the house in my veil, tiara, shoes and a white sheet....how very sad of me!

Anyway, I just wanted to say, that i am no longer counting the months...i'm now into weeks...16 yesterday to be precise....and i literally cannot beleive how fast the past months have gone by!

My best friend and BM called me yesterday and she and her fiance found their wedding venue! I'm so excited for her wedding, I just hope i can help her out as much as she has helped me with mine...

Anyway - bit of a pointless post...but OH is out and the cat doesnt talk back.... Smiley smile

How long have you been planning?

I hear loads of people say it goes by quick which is a comfort to me as we're still over a year away.

Hawk, believe me, it does go quick, and I am a quite impatient person when it comes to parties, weddings, holidays! LOL! I started planning when I had 20 months to go (as my joining date here says - yes, i joined Hitched the night we set a date!) and now I have 6 months (24 weeks) to go!!! Can't believe either how fast the past year has gone!

Hey, i've started counting the weeks too! Just over 13 for me! Think i'm nearly done. We are having our florist ( a friend) round for dinner on saturday to decide what we want and then its just the little things like sorting out wine list, finishing favours etc!!!

    I CANT WAIT!!!!

It's mad how fast it goes. We booked our venue pretty much exactly a year in advance. Everyone says it goes really fast but when it's a year away it seems like forever. I've found that the last few months really have flown, especially the last couple!

I know, been bogged down by other very uninteresting things and haven't had 2 minutes to myself but I'm back now ? Thanks x

It's crazy isn't it. Where's time gone? I know what you mean though. I feel like all I'm doing now is handing over lots of cash! There's bits and bobs to sort but nothing major, and some of it can't be done until after numbers are confirmed like the table plan. I do need to sort out my centrepeices though, they're giving me some grief! Where you up to? I haven't read back through the entire thread ?

LOL I just need to book final meetings with suppliers and venue, sort out catering for evening and canapes, confirm all my flowers and hand over some serious wonga!

Got my first fitting for my dress on 9th august, have been down the gym and lost half a stone woooo! So gona keep that up til August, hoping to have lost about a stone by then....Also willing my hair to grow!! I had it chopped into a graduated bob last July (it was down to the middle of my back before that!) and its now on my sholder, just past the nape of my neck....so hoping it grows a bit more so i can have my nice up do....

I cant beleive its the middle of June already.....

Ah well that's not bad going. Not much left to do now is there. Oh and the money, tell me about it, all I seem to do lately is hand over wads of cash!

First dress fitting? Now that's exciting. I know mine's in the shop and I've been to try it on once about 6 months ago but I want to leave it as late as possible to start the proper dress fittings so I can lose weight too. I'm torturing myself and doing slim fast. So far so good so I should be able to shed a stone or so before dress fittings start.

Uh why did you have your hair chopped off knowing you were getting married you silly mare, lol. There's always extensions...... ?

I've got this thing that pops up on my computer each time I log on to the laptop and today it says 3 months and 18 days. I remember getting excited at th one year mark and now here we are at 3 months. Blimey!

Just wanted to pop on and update on my progress this week, i have just paid the priest for the organist and the registrar and booked an apointment to give notice at the registry office next tuesday.

Also my RSVP'S have to be in by the end of June (i sent out invites early because have family traveling a long way, turns out most of them are not going but thats another story!) so i will be making an appointment with the venue to go over final arrangements etc a couple of weeks after that.

Allgold - most are in or have said yay or nay! My h2b's side have 1 or 2 stragglers but i think they will be coming they just have to verify! And i have all but 1 of myside in now so its all good.

Most of my side cannot make it as my its a long way (they are in western isles and im in northumberland) so it will take a day to get here so they would need to be here a day prior and unless they left on the sunday am they still would not get back till monday due to ferry times ect so i do understand as it will be expensive for them to stay and travel etc. Also i only started planning in Early January, im a little disapointed but understand why.

Still have a few evening invites to do though must get a wriggle on!

Well that's good then, if it's only a couple that haven't replied that's not too difficult to manage. Ours are due in by 15th August and I have a feeling we're gonna be chasing quite a few!

Difficult one when it comes to family travelling too isn't it. I would be disappointed since they've had some time to save and organise it but then on the other hand if it's a day's travelling it's alot for one day.

All our evening invites went out with the day invites. I didn't want to run the risk of people asking me where their invite was if you know what I mean. I haven't asked for an RSVP for those though so it'll just be wait and see who turns up.

Yea it is a lot of time and money for 1 day so i understand why they cant come.

Also im not RSVPing in the evening invites either, just got OH's cousins (there is laods) to write and a few friends.

Im slowly ticking things off the list and know i have all the big things covered just got all the little bits and bobs to go and that list is huge!

Oh i am due all the rest of the RSVP's on 1st July...I have had a load but havent actually gone through any of them yet! My cousin went one back with no stamp on it so I had to pay £1.36 to find out if she is coming or not haha!

All of my OH's family have rsvp'ed - its just my stupid lot who havent...grrrr...

Allgold - my dress fitting is 9th August, I have been gyming and dieting and so far lost half a stone, got sessions with my gym trainer every four weeks to track my progress so that should keep me on track.

I cut my hair cos i am stupid!!! lol Its gorwing fast now so im sure it will be fine, and to be honest, It was so long before that half of it was dead! so at least its more healthy now.

    wooooo 106 days! x

No stamp??? lol. The cheek of it. That is funny though. So what was the verdict in the end - is she coming???

Probably easier if it's your lot that haven't replied. At least you can be blunt and tell em it's now or never (or words to that effect). I'd feel like I had to be a bit more polite if chasing OH's family.

Well done on the half stone. Remember the gym will increase your muscle so you're bound to have got smaller even if you're not lighter. Well done though, that's fab.

    3 months and 2 weeks.......... ?

Well, its a funny story. I sent an invite to her as part of a family group...including her mum (my aunt) her stepdad (my uncle) and her brother (also my cousin). And i sent her and her boyf an invite for the evening (because i didnt invite him to the day) -you following?

Well, she sent me her RSVP (with no stamp) to let me know she and her boyf would be at the evening. However, her mum and step dad - my aunt and uncle havent bothered RSVPing! Charming!

Yea i will chase them up a bit once the deadline passes...

I defo have got smaller, my clothes are feeling different. However, just stuffed myself full of chinese so prob put it all back on!

    WOOO! 15 weeks! x

PS - and i have new shoes for the wedding Smiley laugh
