Crafty brides - can you help source these?

~Lee~, 10 March, 2012 at 08:29 Posted on Planning 0 6

I'm planning on making something like this for my table numbers

https://stayathomeworker.com/2011/11/20/diy-wedding-table-numbers/

I need to find some wooden craft numbers to go in the frames, but the ones I keep finding are a bit rubbish. I want ones that have a nice bevelled finished like most of the numbers in that blog post, not like the number 7.

Can anyone help? I have tried ebay and googled as much as I can.

Does it need to be wooden? Why dont you buy door numbers from B&Q, homebase, ebay etc & stick those inside the photos frame? You could always spray paint them in the same colour as the frame if you want them to match.

Doesn't have to be wooden and I had considered the house numbers but the nice ones are quite a lot more than the craft type numbers I was after and I'm worried they are a bit too heavy to say stuck on. Also most of them have wholes for screws which I guess I could fill with a little diamonte embellishment or something.

Am sure you've already looked on ebay, but what about these? You could even use sanding paper to bevel down the edges to make them smoother like the one in your pic.

The other option is to find a relative or handy man with a jigsaw machine which can cut the numbers out of wood & make yourself. Prob rather fiddly though.

Hobbycraft have plain numbers that you can decorate or ones that are already glittery. I'm sure if you got the plain ones you could give them the texture you want somehow and paint them yourself?

    What about these http://www.craftmill.co.uk/epages/Store.sf/en_GB/?ObjectPath=/Shops/CraftMill/Products/K02/SubProducts/WL02-0001

If you were to take a sharp knife to them you can wittle the sides down to make them bevelled and then just rub over with some sandpaper. This will then get the desired effect.

Thanks for the replies everyone. I ended up going for the ones linked above, and it turns out they look very nice without the bevel, so will just paint these. I will flash one when I get the paint Smiley smile
