Crazy Cat Mummy warning

*Mini*, 6 January, 2013 at 14:09 Posted on Off Topic Posts 0 26

I was in my bedroom faffing around this morning when I could hear a small child shouting outside. I took a look out of the window only to see a small boy of maybe 2 or 3, chasing and shouting at my cat. His mum was just stood there letting him do it. Poor HarryCat then ran under my car too hide, the boy then started to try and get under there and was still shouting at him ☹️

I *may* have opened the window and shouted at the mother something along the lines of "remove your child from my property before I growl at him and chase him under a car"

Unreasonable? Or slightly physco of me? I cant decide.

Completely normal and if I had a cat I'd have done the same.

I would also have asked the mother if they really thought that was appropriate parenting.

? I'd have done more than blinking shout through the window, I think you were very restrained. Hope your cat is ok after his encounter.

ETA - not a cat-owner, but hate seeing or hearing of any animal being hurt / teased etc.

BuffyBoo- I know. I was brought up with animals and was taught to respect them and not drag them around or scare them etc. I once pulled my cats tail and it scratched me when I was about 2. My Mum told me it served me right for hurting the cat!

MissRae- I had to keep a tight reign on my potty mouth as the child was only young, plus diddnt want to appear *too* fishwifey

Bea- HarryCat is currently sleeping right in the middle of our bed and seems fine. My poor little man.

Good on you Mini one!! I've had to tell the kids in our street off a few times for annoying Poppy, she likes to sunbathe on our porch roof and they think its hilarious to shout at her to wake her up. Not since crazy cat Mummy came out dripping wet wrapped in a towel from the bath and gave them a tongue lashing they dont! They didn't realise I had the bathroom window open did they? Bu9*gers near sh1t themselves!

Not crazy at all! I would've done the same. I have major issues with parents who show little care to what their children are doing.

    Absolutely rational.

When I caught the neighbour across the street attempting to kick Baby and then actually hitting him, I thought nothing of running into the road, barefoot cradling my other cat in my arms screaming "If you hit my cat ever again, I'll hit you" plus a few expletives, loud enough for 2 other neighbours to come outside.

I would have actually hit them. And then called the police etc.

I despise anyone being cruel to any animals, even ones I don't particulary like. I cant help thinking that if you are brought up to see animals as objects and playthings then you wont see them as living creatures with feelings that can be hurt. I think thats where the trouble starts.

Excellent response. The kid obviously has no respect for animals and he needs to learn some early, his mum obviously isn't doing it, so your response was just educational.

This. I'm not a pet person, but I wouldn't let either of my kids taunt an animal.
