Creative Direction Please

ShootingStar, 10 April, 2008 at 14:10 Posted on Planning 0 10

Hi All,

I am the least creative person on the planet so need your help!!

My H2B designed our Save the Date magnets on Vista Print, they are very simple - white background, green ornate boarder with the words in green also.

I now want to start sending them out, and need to jazz them up a bit .... this is where I need your help. Do any of you have any suggestions as to how I can do this??

Our wedding colours are green and ivory and the theme is classic garden party.

Thanks in advance!!!

You could maybe stick on some skeleton leaves which would give them a bit of texture? https://e-crafts.co.uk/craftsupplies6.htm

    ?Tessa!

Skeleton leaves are a great idea! I was thinking perhaps using some backing card, attaching the magnets (some how[:I]) and maybe I could use a skelleton leave to jazz up the card??

    Does that make sense??

Yay you liked the idea! You make perfect sense but whether I do is a different matter.

hmm ... never done this but ...

what if you cut a hole in the backing card for the magnet to sit in (like a photo frame) and could you sticky back plastic the back of it so that that it held the magnet level with the card?

You'd have to check that the magnet would still be magnetic after.

You could try diamantes (self adhesive), butterflies, jewel dots, flowers, flower sequins, hearts and other wedding embellishments to add that "little bit extra" - have a look at

for some interesting ideas. I think the flower embellishments:

will go well with the garden party theme.

    All the best,

You could attach the magnet to a backing card with small pictures of teacups and teapots with a mini wood peg and a small green gingham bow on it.

You could 'simply' design your own peice of paper by finding photos of tea cups and tea pots and pasting them onto a powerpoint slide then print it off and spraymount it onto card then cut out the peices individually with a craft knife. A bit fiddly but could look lovely.

I tell you what, if you like I will quickly 'knock up' a A4 design for you to use? How's that? Do you have Powerpoint or even Publisher to open the file?

I hoped you might say that as I thought I would start anyway, have nearly finished, have done it in greens, blue and white so it should go with the magnet. What's your email? Or send email from here, will be ready in a bit.
