Credit rating after divorce

Hiya,

My H did this when he got divorced. You have to disassociate yourself financially from your ex. I think you just need to prove to credit reference agencies that you are actually divorced, can't remember wether he sent a copy of his decree. Just googled & found this form from experian.

Make sure you have any joint financial stuff closed - accounts, credit cards, mortgages, etc. Then apply for your credit files from Experian, Equifax and the other one I can't remember what its called. You should just pay about £2 each. Don't get sucked into the annual fee things. When you get them, check that they don't think you have any financial associations with your ex. If you do, then you can fill in their online form and say that you don't.
