Cuba?

TheNinjaPigeon, 12 July, 2010 at 18:06 Posted on Honeymoons & Getting Married Abroad 0 8

Hi Girls,

My fiancee and I are keen on Cuba for our honeymoon but am worried about finding somewhere suitably idyllic for the 'beach' part of the holiday. Can anyone help with any suggestions of top notch resorts. We want to be Havana side.

    Hi Becci,

We have booked our honeymoon for Cuba and we are staying ath Paradisus Rion De Oro its not in havana itself but definately has the idyllic beach part and its adults only. We booked through first choice and there is an option to do a twin stay so you can go to Havana for 3 nights then spend the rest of the time at another hotel of your choice. It then gives you the chance to do the culture bit but the relaxing beach break too. I must admit i sometimes feel more excited about the honeymoon than the wedding itself !!

    xx

Ooo that sounds lovely. How long will you be out there for altogether?

I know what you mean about the honeymoon being so exciting. Right now the wedding itself seems like loads of work! I already need a holiday and I can't go on one as we have to save!!

    Hi,

we have decided Havana as our honeymoon destination too! a friend recomended the south for the beach resorts and the North for the hustle and bustle of Havana.

I havent dont much reseach into it really (H2B's job!) but ive read about a small island called Cayo Santa Maria which is apparently a very tranquil place not yet spoilt by tourism! we are thinking of a few days here, then a few in havana then maybe back to the island!!

I think Cuba may have just been pushed to one side in favour of Mauritius - just been offered a fabby deal!!!! xx

    Hi,

I went to the Paradisus Rio de Oro in Cuba last year, I was bridesmaid there for my best friends wedding and it was amazing we had a fantastic time. The food was good, the pool was lovely and so was the beach. I have no complaints about it at all, only thing I would say is you do need to tip the bar staff even though its all inclusive, if you don't they will start to serve other people who are tippers before you, we soon caught on! As it was my first all inclusive in the carribean I don't know if that is the done thing everywhere. I loved it and would definitely go back. Our holiday was booked through First Choice xxx

Me and my beloved had a great vacation in Vadero. It wasn't a honeymoon, just a sweet escape after our relation was going well but I can say it was one that I will never forget. Sunny seaside, palm trees, the ocean... seems like it's in Paradise!
