Dancing with my Dad

SunnyPinkConfetti310, 3 October, 2015 at 08:13 Posted on Planning 0 8

My OH and I aren't having a first dance, he was really opposed and it wasn't important to me so we scrapped it. However, my Mum still wants me to have a dance with my Dad. I just wondered what music others had chosen to dance with their Dads?

This is one of the two wedding traditions we are keeping in. Mainly because I'm a big daddy's girl! So we are having the beach boys - God only knows

We danced to Paul Simon "Father and Daughter". Quite soppy but we both loved it. one of my favourite memories from the wedding.

I love that a PP mentioned "I loved her first". That one always makes me cry. "You're Gonna Miss This" by Trace Adkins is another tear jerker. My father and I will be dancing to "What a Wonderful World". Growing up my father was in a barbershop quartet and would always perform that song, so it was a no brainer. My sister has her heart set on "Butterfly Kisses" which talks about a father's feelings towards his daughter when she's a child, at her sweet sixteen, and finally, on her wedding day.

There were some great ones mentioned already but here are a few more upbeat ones:

    "My Wish" by Rascal Flatts

    "Forever Young" by Rod Stewart

"How Sweet It Is (To Be Loved By You)" by James Taylor

Wow, some amazing songs suggested, thank you. I had been leaning towards Heartland's "I loved her first" but now I've seen all these suggestions it is back to youtube!
