Day after - what are your plans??

Alice_In_Wonderland, 7 March, 2013 at 13:37 Posted on Planning 0 23

What is everyone doing the day after the wedding?!

Our reception/eve do is just in a pub, so we're going back to home after the party. OH's family aren't local so they're staying in a hotel in town, and my Ma & Pa have to go to work the next day.

Was thinking about meeting the in-laws & the rest of OH's family in town for breakfast/lunch sort of thing, but not sure on the logistics, or who would be expected to pay for it?!! ? (with only 5 days to go, we're a bit skint now.... lol)

Any ideas?? What are your plans?!

I don't think anyone would expect you to pay! Smiley smile

We are off on our honeymoon the next day!

Agree with this one! Although they might want to pay for you to congratulate.

Quite a few of our friends are coming a long way so we're hoping they'll stay around for a bit longer than just the wedding day itself. We have to clear out of the venue by 12pm, so we'll be doing that in the morning, then meeting up with anyone that's still around in our favourite pub from about 3pm onwards. Relaxed and informal, hopefully just to have a few drinks with people, they can order food if they want to and we don't have to get involved with the money side of things!

We've got a lot of people coming from around the country, so after a family breakfast in the hotel, we're all meeting up to do a city sightseeing bus tour for an hour or so, then lunch, then a pub crawl! People can drop out as they wish as the day progresses... Then the out of towners are staying another night as the wedding is a Friday so this will still only be a Saturday.

We're paying for the hire of the sightseeing bus but everything else is up to individuals.

    It's a wedding weekend!

We're begging the wedding party and family to come back to the hall and help up remove bunting, clear up etc. In return there'll be bacon sandwiches and coffee back at ours. That will be a nice 'ahhh' moment I think. Then HUSBAND and I (ha ha, like that) will be back off to our honeymoon suite for the night (in our town) and our honeymoon starts on the Monday morning. I CANNOT WAIT FOR THE HONEYMOON. I am tired Smiley smile

We're staying at the venue to night of the wedding, and that includes a big full english the next morning in the castle dining room with any of the guests who spent the night as well. Then quite a few of us will go play a round of golf at Hever Castle golf course.

That last bit is subject to change, but since so many other people were up for golf, I think it might be fun to keep the fun going.

We are getting married in the Peak District and staying over at our lovely venue in a really beautiful location in the middle of nowhere. Half of our guests will be staying in the hotel as well. We will have breakfast together the next morning, and then we will go walking in the hills with whomever wants to join us, followed by pub dinner somewhere in the Peaks.... Smiley smile

    This makes me smile.

We're having breakfast at the venue with the bridal party in the morning, and then flying off on honeymoon in the evening.

    And I cannot wait.
