Day Invitations Finished! *Flash*

Mrs C, 24 January, 2011 at 09:32 Posted on Planning 0 30

Well it has taken me about 3 days but they are finished (just need labels for the envelopes which I am off out to get shortly!) and ready to be written.

I promised Cricket that I would take "action" shots... so here they are... from my phone so a little small but hopefully ok! Hope you likey!!

Printing commences after 3 independent spelling and grammar checks!!!

Pockets stuck together with double sided tape... note to self... buy a double sided tape dispenser!

Cutting out all the pieces

Cutting out the ribbon.... about 5 metres of ribbon saved by not wrapping all the way around!

Almost there...

All complete!!!!

Now off to get labels and start on the evening ones!!!!!

Oh and a picture of the sparkly card especially for Flowmojo...

Me too - lol. It's the card sizing that I don't understand??? We have the same printer, that's at least encouraging to know it's up to the job ?

You have done an amazing job, they're very professional looking.

Thanks girls... I am so pleased with them!

I bought the orchid design from a website called Fotolia, then changed the colours in photoshop to make the background designs. Downloaded the fonts from Dafont.com I think - there are loads of free font sites out there...

I ordered the 140mm x 140mm pocketfolds and A4 card from PDA card and craft. They had matching envelopes in 150mm x 150mm and 100mm x 100mm which were ideal for the main envelope and rsvp envelope.

I then used powerpoint to lay the invitation pieces out so I could print on as few bits of A4 card as possible with little wastage, the offcuts will be used for the base of the placecards.

These were the A4 sheet designs... the second 2 pages were laid out to print double sided (this took a few trial runs on plain paper first to get right)

Be aware that when you select "A4" in powerpoint - it is not actually A4 measurements, you will need to change the sizes in page setup to 210mm x 297mm.

The sections are just text boxes with images behind them...

Then print, cut out with a guillotine and using double sided tape, stick all the pieces together!

Hope that helps a little bit!!!

    Mrs C, they are gorgeous!

Which card was it you used for the invites (sparkly) ? I want that for ours but my brother wasn't convinced it would print properly on them. We've bought a couple of Ivorys (PDA as well) at the moment but I'd love a sparkly one!!

Thanks so much for the instructoins, it's all starting to make sense!

Can I double check, the first three that you have, were they all from the one A4 sheet? Can I be a pain and ask what measurements they are individually??

I used Cryogen (Iridescent) - its not pearlescent but has sparkles in it... prints on my little kodak inkjet perfectly! Its also more ivory than white...

You can buy individual pieces/sample packs from PDA - I did this for my test run!!

Yes, the main invite, rsvp card and front piece were all on the same piece of A4... the invitation was 135mm x 135mm and both the rsvp and front part were 95mm x 95mm
