Day/Night Numbers

rach_217, 8 April, 2016 at 11:13 Posted on Planning 0 8

Hello Lovely Hitchers - quick question how many additional guests do you have coming to your evening reception?

We only have an additional 20, (65 day/85 night) and I'm slightly concerned it's not enough extra, daft probably but we originally had an additional 30/40 but for one reason or another our day list has gone up & our night list down.

Do you think it matters? xxxx

We have the same as you, around 60 day guests and 80 on the evening. These were the numbers included in our package and, as we both have small families, there was no-one else that we wanted to invite.

We are inviting around 50 to the day and then a further 26-ish to the evening do. I know that not all 26 evening guests can come, so there won't be loads of extra people.

Same issue, although smaller numbers: 56 for day, 75 for evening.

I figure we could have invited loads more, but they would be people we don't particularly want to spend time with which would then equate to less time with the guests we DO want to spend time with.

There'll be a party atmosphere regardless of the number there, so stick with what you and OH want Smiley smile

Thank you so much ladies, you've made me feel loads better ?

You are totally right, it will be fabulous whatever & I'd rather not invite people for the sake of it & stretch our budget! I seem to be grabbing on to odd things to worry/stress about, roll on June 4th xxx

We're still in the guest list planning stage and when we originally booked, we said 40 day, 100 night.....well, when we've actually started properly looking at lists, we're looking at about 50 day and maybe 80 invitations for the night, with the likelihood it may only be 60 for the night. We are being quite liberal with evening invitations, as we're only doing bacon butties, so at £5 per head, I'm not as worried if people don't RSVP or it's people we don't totally adore that do turn up, haha!

We're having the same guests for day and evening, because everyone we wanted there we wanted to spend the whole day with. It's about 65-70 altogether.

We're free to invite as many people as we want to cater for really as we've having a marquee wedding, so we have 80 to the day, & then will probably aim for another 40-50 in the evening - those are the numbers we're planning for in terms of caterers at the moment anyway, it depends on when we send the invites nearer the time as to how many we actually end up with though!

I think it depends on size of the venue really mostly, but I don't think it matters other than that!

We are having 80 in the day and only an extra 20 maximum for the evening. But I think about 10 people are unlikely to come so actually there will only be a few evening guests. I don't think it matters!
