December 2011 brides

Ah just seen noone replied to this...perhaps we're the only December 2011 brides?!?!

So sounds like you're a bit ahead of me....think I know my dress...going to prob go with a Maggie Sottero, how about you?

We're going for navy as a theme, so my MoH will be wearing a full length navy dress, we looked at the Dessy site but she won't be trying any on yet, need to try and find dresses for my 11-year old bridemaid and 2 little flower girls who will be 5 & 4 (thinking cream with navy ribbon).

Have been looking online for ideas for flowers/accent colours but so far not decided on anything...quite like the whole Christmas theme, maybe ivy, red berries etc, but feel like maybe need to do a stronger colour to compliment the navy blue.

We're meeting a photographer on Tuesday, have you found yours yet?

Im a december bride, we are having a festive wedding with a vintage kinda twist... cant explain well so heres my moodboard with things on I have either got or am having!

You're doing better than me! I'm a September 2011 Groom and so far we have picked the venue, got the dress, had the dress destroyed in a housefire and that's about it!

Don't forget a photographer

I had just replied to the other december 2011 bride thread when i saw this.... so far:

We have booked the venue (having ceremony/Wedding breakfast and reception all in a lovely hotel)

Given our notice of marriage and booked the registrar

Booked the DJ

Got TOG (one of our friends is doing for us)

Cake - being made by mum and decorated by us.

Got my wedding dress! (picking it up on Saturday so will flash!)

Got favours sorted

Center piece stuff bought and 100 electric tea lights to decorate the venue.

Personally, I think i need to slow down a bit as im worried about being left for too long with not much to do.... I like to keep busy and dont like just waiting!

Loving the mood board by the way kitty, i keep think about putting one together.... maybe this weekend!

I am a December bride too! So far we have:

Booked the venue for wedding - having it all in one place!

Booked the registrar (still not done notice of marriage though!)

Researched DJ's and narrowed down to 2 (making decision in a week or so!)

Have meetings with photographers this week and next

Chosen colour scheme - deep red and ivory

Spoken to a lovely florist who has some great ideas and meeting her at the venue wedding fayre in May

Have not even tried a dress on yet!! ? My grandma has been in hospital for 4 weeks so spending all my spare time there! Need to get cracking though!

I think you're doing fine!!

If it makes you feel any better I've wasted 3 months on looking at dresses, don't know where the time goes so really I'm at the same stage as you! Going to a shop on saturday to try one on again, really hoping I like it, am having a bit of a panic that I seem to be the only bride that can't find any dresses she likes!

Are you sure your registrar is booked as I didn't think they'd confirm until you have your Notice of Marriage?

What date are you and what venue?

Have a look at photographers asap as you def need to firm one up, I found ours on here, he's fab! Called Chris Giles, if you google his website will come up.

The only things I've done (and I do panic when one of my friends says how's the planning going LOL) are: Booked venue (catering is all done through them with one supplier), booked registrar, booked a string quartet (saw them at a local fayre), spoke to a dj but need to send booking form and deposit off, booked photographer.

We paid a deposit to secure the date so they best have booked it for us!!! ?

I ordered mine on that Saturday....I just love it! It was out of two, Maggie Sottero's Nora and Enzoani's Fatima. Tried Nora first and it was mad, it just didn't feel right any more (I'd tried it about 4 times already!), as soon as I put Fatima on i said yes :o) It looks terrible on the website, the model is such a skinny minny that it doesn't do it the justice it deserves....I'm not having the belt either, that's just weird! So it's a big tulle skirt with lace overlay, love love love it! Having a long veil (not cathedral length but the one that comes down to the floor) too :o)

OMG Feb!!! So how's the first month of engagement been? We got engaged in November, I thought that was more than enough time, then I came on here and saw that these girls plan for 18 months +, scared me so much!

Thankfully all back on track xx
