So pleased to know I'm not alone lol!

I'm "provisionally" booked for Saturday, 21st December, so I think that NorthernBelle_79 is my date mate! ?

I have been engaged a year today so think I am quite organised!!

Have got venue, caterer, dress, make up/hairdresser, florist, band and invitations/stationary are being done at the moment. Cant do bridesmaid dresses till end of year as one of my bridesmaids is pregnant so leaving it till the last moment! Then will just be the little details/extra touches.

can't believe how quick the time has gone!!

So far I am booked for 7th December, got venue, photographer, flowers, dress (shoes & veil), favours, bridesmaid dress, make up/ hair dresser, gift list set up in Debenhams, wedding cake sorted with my mum, deco for both wedding breakfast room and ceremony room, and invites are in the process of getting done. As well as a short list of music OHs mum is creating for me.

In the next two months, is suits, rings and maybe a videographer..

Because of my job i am very busy and out of the country most of the summer until sept so have got loads sorted so the last few months is rechecking all bookings and confirming numbers, menu etc

I think I'm a little way behind you all ?

So far, the venue is provisionally booked and that's it, although I have got the wedding rings ?

It's only going to be a small intimate affair & I'm probably kidding myself that I'll have it all organised in no time lol!

Too be honest, i made my choices quite quickly, after I done all the research for each piece.

I have set myself goals each week and month to cut the workload down, the only thing delayed so far is getting OH suit sorted as he works offshore and when he is in the UK we normally are chasing motorsports doing photography (I do it fulltime) But i still have more than enough time still to sort it.

Our guest list is around 45, but am expecting it to drop to just below 40 when i get the RSVPs back

My friend didn't want to drag out the process of getting married after she had been engaged for a few months, so they went into where they wanted to get married, and the place only had two dates in the next 6 months free, one 6 weeks away and the other at the end of 6 months.... she picked the 6 weeks away date and she sorted everything out and it was a wonderful day! Wedding planning doesn't have to take an age! Smiley smile

    Hi,

I am getting married on 14th! Don't seem to be as organised as everyone else! So far I have booked Church and venue, bought dress, veil and shoes and bridesmaid dresess and booked makeup and hair trials... still have loads to do! Slightly worried about invitations, we are making our own, but have no free weekends to sit down and do them until mid September!!

How long before are you sending out your invites? Think we are going to do ours quite early as people are always busy around that time of year x

Hey ladies I'm getting there most things booked just the dreading paying things off my big day is 27th December I'm hoping for a lil snow or frost for nice pics but not bothered.

Im sending my invites beginning of September sent save the dates about 12 months before it come round soooooo fast. What time is everyone getting married I've said 2 but I'm abit apprehensive of as its a wedding in aa Catholic Church it could be 2.45 before we get out an worries about daylight hours for photos my sister has already done all my invites aswell so changing the time would be a problem.

Also ladies are any of you wearing a fur shrug or coat in the big day? I have purchased one but wondering do you wear up the aisle and in church or just on the way to the church and outdoors?

    Yay at date twin finally!

I am sending out the invites this month as soon as they are done, asking the RSVP to be september. My venue is needing the numbers 6 weeks before wedding day, so have given myself an extra 6 weeks to chase up people. Also with my work the RSVP should be all returned during a break in my work schedule.

Am a buying myself a fur snug just for outside photographs, I am staying at the venue the night before so we don't need to pay for car to bring me. The best man is driving my OH on the day, our house is only 10 minutes drive away from venue to not worried about snow or ice.. If worse came to worse he could always walk! ;-)

I would have liked a 1pm wedding but sadly someone got it before me, I am getting married at 11am, so it will give me loads of time for photographs, also in december the low sun gives off a golden light in shots are lovely, which I am hoping for!

I'm impressed with how many winter brides there are! There's always this feeling for suppliers that there's an abundance of weddings in summer and less in winter. Did you guys consciously choose/want to get married in winter or did time just go that way?

I'll be honest...................it was cheaper!! but also for a few reasons besides this, my OH would marry today! so Christmas is his 2nd choice, we both have Christmas off from work so need to book time out, the Venue will be decorated up with twinkly lights and Christmas trees and decorations, so less for me to do!

We chose our date as it fitted in with the school holidays and happened to be cheaper as well!

I have bought for my bridesmaids lovely fur coats to wear. I definitely want to get a furry coat/shrug of some kind but cant decide if I want a small delicate one or a large one!

11/12/13 Bride here! Booked purely because of the date! ? He has no excuse to forget an anniversary then Haha.

So far the venue is booked, invites are being printed (expected 8th July) Flowers are organised, we've picked the suits, and favours, bought boxes for kids favours just need stuff to go inside. Bridesmaid dresses/gifts bought, along with shoes, rings and veil. I still haven't got my dress yet, as I am currently the fitness queen and desperate to get down another size! I really need to start making a list!

    So the things I've done so far include;

    Set the date ?

    Bought the rings

Booked the venue & paid deposit

    Booked the Registrar

    Given notice of marriage

Ordered extra marriage certs and paid Registrar in full

    Got a dress to wear

Found someone to make a wedding cake

    MUA booked

    Hair booked

    Invites ordered & paid for

    Things still to do;

Decide on a colour scheme ?

Decide on music for the ceremony

Fill out the Marriage planning sheet

    Menu tasting ~ yummy!

Decide on who's coming and write out invites once they've arrived ?

Wow! you are so organised!!! Why do u need more marriage certificates and what's the marriage planning sheet??

I am pretty organised I think, just sorting out the invites at the moment and once those are sorted can then do order of service etc. Though can't decide what I want for my table plan and place names!

Also I am very happy as I ordered a sample bridesmaid dress from ebay and it came yesterday and it is lovely!!! so now can order the rest nearer the time!

    Honeymoon booked YAY! ?

Ordered more marriage certificates so that we have a couple spare to send off for changing name on driving licence, passport, banks etc

    Another date twin!

How are you all getting on with your planning now?

I have been told my bridesmaid dress wasn't ordered when i ordered it back in April, 3 months later i find out, now the dress can't be ordered as it has been discounted from the line Smiley sad Totally gutted as it was perfect, but i guess at least i found out in enough time so my bridesmaid can look for another one..... She is in Northern Ireland and i don't have time to fly over to help, so trusting her 100% to pick out a dress similar to the last one....

Also got the wedding rings sorted this week, just need to put down a deposit...

Just noticed that its 119 days to the wedding, where did that time go to??
