Not really sure what sort of budget your on but Sri Lanka is hot dec there is loads to do and you can get all inclusive for a reasonable price. It also depends when in dec ur flying as if it's school holiday that will up all prices

I'm starting to think a week in a cabin and then a late honeymoon somewhere hot, we are in Scotland, our wedding is the 10th, so we would fly the 12th, we want at least 10 days if it's somewhere quite far .. i was hoping there would be somewhere close by but i have googled and googled and everywhere hot is so far away!

Will just need to see how we cope paying the wedding and decide once most of the wedding is paid i guess

I'm considering cape verde but im not sure about how safe it is? I'm thinking of going with travel repbulic or something so we can save some money there but there doesn't seem to be many nice hotels there? i've checked thomson and thomas cook and theres a choice of 3 hotels :/

My bro in law went to Cape Verde in December a few years back, he said the weather was unpredictable and windy.

Aw Yeah i went to lanzarote which is like the other side of the sea im sure, and it was so windy, was warm but windy and i don't like wind when you expect heat lol, we went to egypt in 2013 and weren't keen, the way the men were treating women there made me sick, saw a man slap his wife for opening a bag of crisps and no one said anything, a shop keeper in that big market called me a *** because i said i didn't want to buy anything and told my fiance to "keep me under control" so we defo wont go back!

brother in law goes away at that time of year and he tends to go to Mexico or Dom Rep; they tend to book last minute so always get good deals, I wouldn't suggest you book last minute (although I'm sure some brides do).

Think my only other useful suggestion is Canaries if you want sunshine or perhaps a city break

We're looking at Cape Verde too. It's fairly unspoiled so it won't be all singing all dancing, but there do seem to be some pretty luxurious hotels. Most trip advisor bad reviews are generally to do with red flags on beach so you can't swim in the sea (I'm happy with the pool) and a bit of wind.

Good points seem to be staff at the hotels and that it is very chilled out and laid back

It depends on your budget, but Cuba is hot in December Lots to do there and it's really safe! It's one of the cheapest of the Caribbean Islands too, absolutely amazing place to visit. I love love love it! It was like going back in time! Cannot recommend it enough! Oh how I want to go back!

I'll look into cuba, i hate windy and i dont like warm i like hot we are considering just having a lodge in scotland, we want to try get a mortgage and look for a house for the second week we have off so we can maybe find one and possibly put in an offer so wil just see what happens

Anywhere in the Canary Islands would be your best bet!
