Decided to call it off :(

Little_MrsA2B, 27 April, 2016 at 14:16 Posted on Planning 0 3

Some of you may remember my last post where I was questioning whether to call off my wedding. I won't go into details again here but after a lot of soul searching and discussion, we did call off the wedding. It has been heartbreaking for us both. But I won't dwell on it here.

The issue is that we paid for the venue in full. Under the Ts and Cs they cannot refund us. But they have said we can sell it on to someone else, and/or change the date.

So does anyone know where I could advertise this? Or think there would be any interest? It is an incredible venue (http://www.larmertree.co.uk/) and is normally over £5,000 for peak season. Someone will be getting a bargain for sure!

I'm so sorry to hear this. Sending you lots of love. I was in a similar situation a few years ago so I do feel for you Smiley sad

There are actually websites that sell on cancelled weddings - I can't recommend a specific one as we only lost the deposit so swallowed the cost, but would've looked into this option if we had have paid any more.

    Good luck x

I'm so sorry, must be an incredibly hard time for you right now.

I'm not sure either of any good places - I assume the venue are telling anyone who visits that the date is available? When we looked at our venue they said that if we had to cancel for any reason, they would endeavour to fill the date & refund us in full - hopefully yours will too.

I do remember your previous post and I'm really sorry to hear this. I hope things feel better for you in time.

Are there any local facebook wedding groups where you could post this?

I am sorry to hear this too. I would suggest local wedding groups as well, there are quite a few around where I live and they seem to work well for things like this.
